  • A minimum of five years of cybersecurity experience, including at least five years in a SOC leadership capacity.
  • In-depth technical expertise in SIEM, EDR, and incident response methodologies, with a thorough understanding of network architectures and security controls.
  • Ability to create insider threat-focused dashboards, reports, and workflow diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Run the security operations center and own its people, processes, and performance, including alert triage, work prioritization, and overall center performance.
  • Work closely with the leads for insider threat monitoring, threat hunting, incident response, digital forensics, and vulnerability assessment, and ensure those functions work together effectively.

  • Communicate incident severity and impact accurately.
  • Apply lessons from incidents to improve SOC operations.
  • Develop analysts’ capabilities and maintain standards and playbooks for recurring SOC work.
  • Manage communication with leadership and stakeholders beyond the SOC.

Desired Qualifications

  • GCFA, GREM, GCIH, OSCP, GPEN, GFCE, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience running a security operations center or equivalent detection and response function, rather than only working as an analyst.
  • Experience managing a team through a real incident and reflecting on lessons learned.
  • Experience reporting security posture and incidents to non-technical leadership.
  • Experience working within a federal or highly regulated security program.
  • An active CBP BI, a fitness determination at another DHS component, or an active DoD clearance.
  • Familiarity across insider threat, threat hunting, incident response, forensics, and vulnerability assessment.
