Requirements
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of four years of aircraft cabinetry experience is required.
  • The employee must qualify as a US Person for programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations, meaning a US Citizen, qualifying Permanent Resident, or political asylee.
  • The employee must communicate in English in reading, writing, and verbal communication.
  • The employee must apply mathematical knowledge, including decimals and fractions, to problem solving.
  • The employee must identify and operate the proper tools for assigned tasks.
  • The employee must identify the application characteristics of adhesives and epoxies.
  • The employee must read measuring instruments and correctly label parts for reassembly.
  • The employee must be able to build shop aids, fabricate small sheet metal parts, and manufacture shims, blocks, and other items needed for final assembly adjustments.
  • The employee must work independently and cross-functionally, communicate effectively, solve problems, and manage time and organization effectively.
  • The employee must meet the stated physical requirements, including lifting, reaching overhead, climbing, working in cramped positions, and maintaining normal or corrected vision and full hand motion.
  • The employee must comply with the DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
  • The employee must obtain the minimum required personal tools within six months after initial employment.
  • The employee must demonstrate safe setup and operation of the listed shop tools and equipment before operating them.
  • The employee must be able to travel as required and work outside core business hours as required.
Responsibilities
  • Build high-end aircraft cabinetry using veneers, laminates, and composite materials while meeting quality and efficiency standards.
  • Support the mentorship and training of cabinet builders.
  • Read, interpret, and analyze customer specification documents and engineering drawings.
  • Work consistently with aerospace materials.
  • Bond hinge blocks into panels and set doors and drawers.
  • Fabricate hardwood bullnose and Corian countertops.
  • Prepare kerf and fiberglass panels.
  • Apply adhesives and epoxies to materials.
  • Build drawers and cabinets on large monuments.
  • Apply veneer to products.
  • Lay out and route openings for switches, cup holders, and inlays.
  • Install inlays.
  • Lay out and cut materials on a table saw.
  • Operate CNC equipment and a pin router.
  • Wear required safety equipment and follow safety and hazardous-materials procedures.
  • Interpret scheduling requirements and make adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain shop tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a neat, organized work area and assist with daily department housekeeping.
  • Meet target hours and complete schedules set by supervision.
  • Train and instruct others.
