It works with a network of agents and provides a quoting platform so they can give instant quotes to clients, with revenue from insurance premiums. The company uses AI and telematics to deliver real-time driver safety coaching that reduces unsafe driving actions by about 50%, helping drivers maintain cleaner records and qualify for lower premiums. Its goal is to offer affordable, comprehensive protection for truckers through data-driven safety tools and a streamlined, agent-friendly experience.

Cover Whale launches Breakwater Markets to handle $7B in transport risks, appoints Roman Atkielski as EVP

Cover Whale Insurance Solutions has launched Breakwater Markets, a digital wholesale brokerage for transportation risks, and appointed Roman Atkielski as Executive Vice President, Brokerage. The platform enables retail agents to place risks outside Cover Whale's core underwriting programmes, including non-standard, surplus lines and complex placements. Cover Whale's existing platform processes nearly $7 billion in annual premium submissions, with only a portion bound. Breakwater allows more risks to be placed within the group rather than referred elsewhere. Atkielski joins from Jencap Insurance Services, where he served as National Practice Leader for Transportation. He previously co-founded High Point Underwriters, a programme administrator later acquired by K2 Insurance Services. Breakwater will leverage Cover Whale's infrastructure and market relationships.
