Apple shares drop 10% to $305 despite revenue beat as Wedbush targets $400

Apple shares have fallen 10% to $305 since its July earnings report, despite beating revenue expectations with $109.4 billion in quarterly sales and 22% iPhone revenue growth. The decline followed management warnings about memory pricing pressures and concerns over a one-time tariff refund that contributed $0.11 to its $2.02 earnings per share. Wedbush analyst Dan Ives maintains a $400 price target, representing 31% upside from current levels. His bullish stance centres on Apple's 2.5 billion active device base entering an AI-driven upgrade cycle, catalysed by the new Siri AI unveiled at WWDC26. The stock has underperformed both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 since earnings. Wall Street's consensus target sits at $322.82, implying modest 5.9% upside.

Apple posts 9th straight earnings beat with revenue up 16% to $109B, contradicting Jefferies' downgrade

Apple reported its ninth consecutive earnings beat in Q3 2026, with revenue up 16% to $109 billion and iPhone sales rising to $54.25 billion. This contradicts Jefferies' recent downgrade to Underperform with a $264 price target, which cited rising memory costs and a reportedly cancelled all-glass iPhone redesign. Bloomberg has since confirmed the all-glass iPhone Pro remains on track for 2027, undermining a key element of Jefferies' thesis. Supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggested memory supply concerns are overstated, noting Apple plans processor production months ahead. Apple's gross margin stands at 46.91%, with operating margin at 31.97%. Wall Street consensus rates the stock a Moderate Buy with a $329 average price target, contrasting sharply with Jefferies' bearish stance.

Jefferies downgrades Apple to sell after $2T glass iPhone cancellation

Jefferies has downgraded Apple stock to underperform, cutting its price target to $263.66 from $285.56, representing potential losses of around 16%. Analyst Edison Lee cited supply chain checks indicating Apple cancelled its planned all-glass iPhone, scheduled for September 2027, due to low production yield. Lee described the cancellation as "a major setback" for Apple's efforts to introduce higher-priced devices amid rising memory costs. The all-glass model was expected to mark the iPhone's 20th anniversary and eventually extend to Pro models. Lee now sees Apple's foldable iPhone, expected in September 2026, as the only near-term product capable of lifting average selling prices. However, he warned that growing AI demand could push memory costs higher, potentially sending the foldable's entry price above $2,000. Jefferies lowered its fiscal year 2028 earnings per share forecast by 2.1%. Apple shares closed down 1.5% on Monday.

Apple dips 7% to $308 as margin concerns offset $100B buyback and $30B quarterly services revenue

Apple shares dropped 7% to $308 since third-quarter earnings, while the broader market climbed, creating a notable disconnect. The tech giant's installed base exceeds 2.5 billion active devices, and its Services division generates $30 billion quarterly at a 77% gross margin. Third-quarter iPhone revenue reached $54.25 billion, up from $44.58 billion year-on-year. The company delivered earnings per share of $2.02, beating estimates of $1.89, marking its ninth consecutive quarterly beat. Apple recently authorised a $100 billion buyback programme. The company posted a 171% return on equity and 31.97% operating margin. However, management flagged concerns about higher memory costs ahead, and the third-quarter gross margin received a temporary boost from tariff refunds that will not recur.
