Requirements
  • The candidate must be a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of three years of recent wound care experience, including assessment and management of complex wounds in community, hospital, long-term care, or clinic settings.
  • The candidate must have experience managing pressure injuries, diabetic foot ulcers, venous ulcers, arterial ulcers, surgical wounds, skin tears, and other chronic or complex wounds.
  • The candidate must have strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and documentation skills.
  • The candidate must have a valid Ontario G Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle; this is considered an asset.
  • The candidate must hold current CPR and First Aid certification from a recognized provider completed within the past 12 months.
  • The candidate must hold valid WHMIS 2015 certification issued or renewed within the past 12 months.
  • The candidate must have a negative TB test completed within the past 12 months, either a 2-step test or a 1-step test with prior documentation.
  • The candidate must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or an exemption in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code.
  • The candidate must provide a clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening issued within the past 12 months.
  • The candidate must communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, for clinical documentation and communication with clients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive wound assessments.
  • Provide advanced wound management in home and community settings.
  • Monitor wound healing and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
  • Educate clients, families, and caregivers on wound prevention and management.
  • Collaborate with physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation.
