Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in healthcare management, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the healthcare industry and/or home care.
  • Regulated health care professional status in good standing with the applicable college in the Allied Health field.
  • Working knowledge of applicable health care legislation, including the Mental Health Act, Substitute Decisions Act, Healthcare Consent Act, and Privacy / Personal Health Information Act.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility in working hours to accommodate operational needs.
  • Knowledge of applicable community resources for clients and families.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification completed within Canada within the past 12 months.
  • Expertise in data-driven research and analysis, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies and decisions.
  • Leadership ability demonstrated through guiding, supporting, and motivating teams.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • A compassionate and empathetic leadership approach focused on care and support for teams, clients, and patients.
  • Current registration in a regulated professional college and professional association.
  • Computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to provide a current, clear criminal background check with Vulnerable Position Screening.
Responsibilities
  • Respect the cultural needs, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality of staff and clients.
  • Coach and mentor clinical supervisors on overseeing care delivery and supporting frontline team members, patients, and families.
  • Monitor care and service delivery performance and clinical indicators.
  • Participate in interviewing, orientation, ongoing supervision, and performance management of clinical supervisors.
  • Ensure completion of mandatory training and skill development.
  • Create and maintain the on-call schedule for clinical supervisors.
  • Respond to clinical concerns from staff, contractors, funders, clients, and families.
  • Review client safety incidents and participate in their investigation and resolution.
  • Provide clinical leadership at the district.
  • Oversee continuous quality improvement activities related to care and service, including staff participation and problem-solving teams.
  • Ensure compliance with ParaMed policies, procedures, and legal requirements for yourself and all staff.
  • Participate in necessary care conferences with the health care team, contractors, and funders.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team consisting of government agencies, health care workers, and other community resources.
  • Demonstrate continuous learning and professional development through involvement in conferences, committees, and networks.
