  • Ability to explain technology to different audiences through code, writing, presentations, and demonstrations.
  • Use of artificial intelligence for software development and scientific analysis.
  • Experience using Git or another version control system in a software development environment.
  • In-depth experience with analysis pipelines and algorithms for omics data types such as genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics.
  • Experience with high-performance computing and public cloud architectures, including AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, and willingness to learn more.
  • Include a link to a public code repository and a short narrative describing what the repository demonstrates about your ability, how it shows your growth over time, and how you have used artificial intelligence to accelerate your work without handing over your judgment. Applications missing either item will not be reviewed.
Responsibilities
  • Create robust, reproducible scientific workflows using Nextflow and make them available to customers for data analysis and visualization.
  • Develop and deliver solutions that increase adoption of Seqera products among customers.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud data infrastructures capable of processing next-generation sequencing, imaging analysis, machine learning, and related large datasets.
  • Understand the biological applications and scientific needs underlying relevant workflows.
  • Communicate service-delivery updates, including project plans, requirements, deliverables, documentation, and training, through writing and presentations.
  • Engage with customers to define requirements, develop project deliverables, and coordinate project execution.
  • Train customers to use Seqera products.
  • Represent the voice of the customer and collaborate internally with content, research, and software development teams.
Desired Qualifications
  • A PhD in bioinformatics or a relevant field, or a Master's degree plus three years of experience.
  • Four or more years of experience relevant to scientific workflows and software development.
  • Experience orchestrating and maintaining data infrastructures and scalable pipelines for large datasets.
  • A track record of production-level bioinformatics code demonstrated through public code repositories, publications, or open-source contributions.

About the company

Seqera Labs provides software to orchestrate data analysis pipelines in genomics and life sciences. Built on Nextflow, Seqera Tower adds enterprise features for collaboration, monitoring, and deploying pipelines at scale on premises or in the cloud. It differentiates by offering an enterprise-grade runtime layer on top of the open-source Nextflow core, focusing on governance, scalability, and collaboration for pharma, biotech, and genomics teams. The goal is to help researchers accelerate genomic data analysis and drug discovery, enabling faster public health responses and more efficient scientific workflows across large organizations.

Benchling utilizes Model Context Protocol to bridge scientific data with AI ecosystems.

Benchling utilizes Model Context Protocol to bridge scientific data with AI ecosystems. Published. April 30, 2026 Benchling has launched AI Connectors, a new integration suite built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP) designed to unify fragmented scientific and enterprise data streams. The platform, which supports over 1,300 biotech organizations including Merck and Moderna, aims to eliminate the manual "copy-paste" workflows that currently plague R&D. By establishing a standardized interface, the connectors allow researchers to pull context directly from institutional tools like SharePoint, Snowflake, and Notion into their experimental records. This bidirectional data flow ensures that AI agents can access the full breadth of a project's history - ranging from experiment records to internal institutional knowledge - without losing critical scientific context. The new capabilities also extend to specialized research tools, allowing scientists to query a deep index of over 8 million biomedical papers via Elicit and GXL without leaving their digital notebooks. Furthermore, the Benchling MCP Server enables external AI models, such as Claude and ChatGPT, to query structured laboratory records directly, providing researchers with answers grounded in verified experimental data. By integrating bioinformatics workflows from Seqera and large datasets via Amazon S3, the update seeks to turn Benchling into a centralized hub for the entire R&D lifecycle. Following a successful beta phase, the company expects general availability of the full MCP offering in May 2026.
