Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • At least 7 years of experience in Civil Site Engineering, including residential, institutional, industrial, and/or commercial site design and permitting experience, is required.
  • Professional Engineer registration is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • The ability to maintain and operate a personal and/or company vehicle is required.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
  • Knowledge of truck and turning modeling software is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of planning and zoning processes is required.
  • Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic stormwater design is required.
  • Proficiency in design and drafting is required.
  • Proficiency in grading and drainage design is required.
  • Utility design experience, including pump stations and force mains, is required.
  • Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals is required.
  • Proficiency in mapping websites for due diligence and site investigation is required.
  • Construction oversight experience for site work is required.
  • Proficiency with hydrology software, including Hydraflow, HydroCAD, and PondPack, is required.
  • Proficiency with hydraulic software, including Hydraflow, StormCAD, and Storm and Sanitary Analysis, is required.
  • Proficiency with HEC-RAS is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project is required.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and/or Adobe for design document markups is required.
  • The ability to work and lead in a team-oriented environment with a focus on staff development and mentoring is required.
  • Client management experience is required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage projects involving land development plan design, stormwater management design, water and sanitary sewer design, and erosion and sedimentation control design.
  • Manage team assignments and balance workload in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Provide vision and guidance to the firm in project management.
  • Drive company business growth and promote business development.
  • Perform quality control.
  • Obtain permits from federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
  • Provide technical assistance to staff and clients in resolving problems.
  • Prepare presentations for land-use-related boards and jurisdictional agencies.
  • Build and manage client relationships, programs, and projects, and promote and sell strategic alliances.
  • Prepare technical proposals.
  • Guide, manage, and support project and program delivery to ensure quality and on-schedule, on-budget completion.
  • Manage project finances, including accounts receivable.
  • Lead projects through hands-on project management and actively manage project plans, deliverables, dependencies, and outcomes to keep projects on schedule and on budget.
  • Manage clients and ensure overall client satisfaction.
  • Mentor and develop staff.
  • Maintain a presence and leadership throughout the regions where the firm does business through involvement in civic, professional, and business organizations.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
