Behavior Technician
About the job
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least 6 months of relevant experience, including internships or related roles, is required.
- Availability during afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and insurance are required.
- Candidates must pass background checks, drug screening, and a driving record review.
- New Jersey candidates must be at least 21 years old and have at least 1 year of experience working with children, in healthcare, or in a related field.
- Behavior Technicians must complete a 40-hour paid training program over 2 consecutive weeks, followed by hands-on supervised precepting, and pass the RBT exam within 45 days.
- Registered Behavior Technicians must have active certification in good standing and complete 1 week of paid training followed by hands-on supervised precepting.
- Behavior Technician and Registered Behavior Technician trainees must be available for training Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Deliver ABA therapy in homes, schools, communities, or clinics.
- Teach communication, social, and daily living skills.
- Implement individualized treatment plans under BCBA supervision.
- Collect, organize, and accurately document session data.
- Work closely with BCBAs, team members, and families.
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing training.
- Assist with administrative and clinical support tasks as needed.
- Experience in childcare, education, or related fields.
- Experience working with children or adolescents.
- Prior exposure to ABA services.
