Facility Maintenance Technician
About the job
- Candidates should have well-rounded knowledge of facility operations, with experience in one or more of building maintenance (electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, carpentry, plumbing, or welding), material handling equipment, or industrial refrigeration.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing and be able to multitask.
- Properly operate a wide variety of power tools, motorized pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment.
- Have basic knowledge of building systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, electrical, and plumbing systems; this is preferred.
- Pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug screening.
- Be able to climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairwells; lift or move heavy objects using carts and hand trucks; and sit, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Be available to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on operational needs, and work in temperature-controlled facilities and outdoor settings.
- Promote a safe work environment and follow all safety rules and procedures.
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems under supervision.
- Perform basic carpentry tasks, such as repairing doors and windows.
- Assist with painting and general facility upkeep.
- Operate a wide variety of hand and power tools, including wrenches, sockets, gear pullers, screwdrivers, jacks, a drill press, a screw gun, and an electric drill.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Promptly report safety hazards or concerns to management.
- Basic knowledge of building systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, electrical, and plumbing systems.
