Limitless (Rewind.ai) provides a subscription-based AI assistant that captures, records, and transcribes everything a user experiences—meetings, conversations, and other interactions—so no important detail is lost. It uses GPT-4 to process a large amount of data and offers features like automated speech recognition and meeting summarization. Data can be processed locally on a user’s Mac for enhanced privacy and security. The target customers include professionals and businesses in corporate, legal, healthcare, and education sectors who need precise data management. Unlike some competitors, it emphasizes local processing for privacy, ongoing updates through a SaaS model, and tailored productivity support. The overarching goal is to help users capture and manage their information accurately and efficiently, improving productivity and ensuring thorough record-keeping.

The deal supports Meta's push into AI-enabled consumer hardware, though financial terms were not disclosed. Limitless CEO Dan Siroker said the company shares Meta's vision of bringing "personal superintelligence to everyone" and will help develop next-generation AI-enabled wearables. The acquisition follows Meta's hiring of longtime Apple design executive Alan Dye earlier this week. Meta currently partners with EssilorLuxottica brands Ray-Ban and Oakley to produce AI-powered smart glasses. The company plans to integrate Limitless' technical capabilities into its wearables development efforts. Limitless, formerly known as Rewind, produces a wearable pendant that clips to clothing or lanyards.
