Roku reports Q3 results on November 2 as $22B Fox takeover faces wider DOJ scrutiny

Roku will report its third-quarter fiscal 2026 results on November 2, after the market closes. Shareholders of Roku and Fox Corporation recently approved Fox's proposed acquisition of Roku, which Fox has valued at $22 billion. Fox shareholders would own about 73% of the combined business, and Roku shareholders 27%. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2027, but regulatory hurdles remain. According to Semafor, the US Department of Justice has widened its antitrust inquiry with a "second request" for more information. In the second quarter, Roku's net revenue rose 22% year on year to $1.35 billion, beating analyst forecasts of $1.3 billion. Its shares are up 55% over 52 weeks, and its market capitalisation is about $23 billion.

Fox One election coverage powered by new AI-driven features.

Fox One election coverage powered by new AI-driven features. [email protected] October 28, 2026 Fox Corporation is introducing a new interactive experience on its Fox One streaming service that will combine live coverage of the November 3 midterm election with real-time voting results, polling information and analysis powered by artificial intelligence. The features, developed in partnership with Fox News Media, will begin rolling out ahead of Election Day, with the full experience expected to be available when election coverage begins, the company announced on Wednesday. "Election night is expected to be among the most demanding live events we cover. The results don't arrive in order, and no two viewers are following the same set of races," Amit Dudakia, the Senior Vice President and Head of Product at Fox Direct to Consumer, said in a prepared announcement. The centerpiece of the new interactive experience is a feature called Command Center, which places live TV coverage from Fox News at the center of the screen, surrounded by interactive widgets displaying election results, polling information and analysis of key races. That information will update as results become available, allowing subscribers to follow election developments without interrupting the live broadcast or switching to another device. Fox Television Stations are also contributing to the experience, with Fox-owned stations in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, Tampa, Phoenix, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Milwaukee, Austin, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Orlando, Seattle and Washington, D.C. offering live, on-the-ground coverage of key local and state races. LiveNow from Fox, the free streaming news service operated by Fox Television Stations, will also be showcased during the network's election night coverage. News coverage from those stations and others will also be aggregated into a new portal called Election Hub, which Fox will promote as a one-stop shop for all types of election-related information. Another feature, called Ask Fox, will receive a dedicated "Elections Mode" that allows subscribers to ask questions about election developments and receive responses based on current results and historical voting information. That function will use ElectionAI, an artificial intelligence platform developed internally by Fox News Media specifically for the 2026 election cycle. According to Fox, the system will provide sourced responses to questions about individual races, previous election results and comparisons with earlier election cycles. Relevant Fox News reporting and video will appear alongside the answers. The system consolidates multiple election data sources into a real-time feed used across Fox One's election interfaces. Fox said the underlying infrastructure also supports contextual information accompanying sports and news programming on the streaming service. The launch of various election-related features within Fox One is meant to showcase the app as more than a destination for live programming across the company's broadcast stations, local TV affiliates, cable networks and streaming channels. Instead, Command Center and the other interactive experiences demonstrate how the company is thinking beyond linear feeds to super-serve all kinds of users, including news fanatics. Already, Fox One has showcased different technologies to provide amplified experiences to sports fans: During the FIFA World Cup tournament, the service launched multi-view screens offering differentiated, raw video feeds from additional cameras in addition to the network's own broadcast feed of each game playing. Real-time sports scores are also baked into Fox's broadcasts of soccer, football and baseball games. Now, Fox is hoping to do to news what it already does to sports, and company executives are hoping the lessons learned from its election-focused Command Center will inform additional features for news, sports and entertainment down the road. Fox is not the only company launching enhanced experiences: On Wednesday, DIRECTV said it will revive its election-related pop-up channel, called Election HQ, which will feature real-time data from the Associated Press alongside a multi-view of four cable news networks, including Fox News. The pop-up channel starts November 2. Fox One is widely available on streaming platforms, sold directly by Fox for $20 per month and offered by other services like Roku's Premium Subscriptions, Amazon's Prime Video Channels and YouTube Primetime Channels. Fox One is also bundled with sister platform Fox Nation and ESPN Unlimited for additional fees. Cable and satellite subscribers with at least one Fox channel - broadcast station, affiliate or cable network - in their package have access to Fox One without any extra charge. More stories. Fox Corporation promotes Nicholas Trutanich to General Counsel.

Fox Corporation promotes Nicholas Trutanich to General Counsel. [email protected] October 19, 2026 Fox Corporation will appoint Nicholas Trutanich as its new General Counsel on December 1, succeeding Adam Ciongoli, who is stepping down as Chief Legal and Policy Officer after three years with the company. Ciongoli has decided not to renew his contract but will remain with Fox as a Special Advisor through June 2028, the company announced Monday. Trutanich, currently the Executive Vice President and Principal Deputy General Counsel, will report directly to Fox Corporation CEO Lachlan Murdoch. "I'd like to thank Adam for his many immense contributions over the last three years," Murdoch said in a statement. "I deeply appreciate his service to Fox and am grateful that he will continue to serve Fox as a special advisor." Murdoch also praised Trutanich, saying his experience in litigation, regulatory compliance and corporate legal matters would be valuable in his expanded position. Trutanich joined Fox Corporation in 2021 as its Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer. He subsequently became Executive Vice President and Principal Deputy General Counsel, overseeing the company's litigation and ethics and compliance operations. Before joining Fox, Trutanich served as the U.S. Attorney for the District of Nevada from 2019 to 2021. He previously held senior positions in the Nevada Attorney General's Office and worked as a federal prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice. Earlier in his career, Trutanich worked as a private practice litigator and federal law clerk. "I will be honored to serve as General Counsel and grateful for the opportunity to lead such a talented legal team," Trutanich said on Monday. "It is an exciting time of growth and innovation at Fox, and I look forward to working with colleagues across the Company to advance our goals." Ciongoli said he welcomed the opportunity to continue working with Fox in an advisory capacity. "It has been a privilege and an honor to be a part of the Fox family, and I have especially valued my relationships with Lachlan and our talented colleagues," Ciongoli said. The leadership changes will also affect Fox Corporation's government relations operations. Kristopher Jones, Executive Vice President and Head of Government Relations, will begin reporting directly to John Nallen, the company's President and Chief Operating Officer, effective December 1. Fox did not announce an immediate replacement for Ciongoli's broader Chief Legal and Policy Officer position beyond Trutanich's appointment as General Counsel.

BofA upgrades Fox to Buy on $22B Roku deal, sees over 30% upside

Bank of America has upgraded Fox Corp. to Buy from Underperform, saying Fox's agreed purchase of Roku "fundamentally changes the strategic and financial narrative" for the company. Fox agreed in June to pay $160 a share for Roku, valuing it at about $22 billion. Analyst Jessica Reif Ehrlich raised her price target to $85 from $54, implying more than 30% upside. She said Roku answers Fox's streaming question, and that fears of an early, costlier NFL rights deal have eased. The bank estimates $530 million in extra revenue in its base case, and more than $1 billion in its bull case. Most would come from selling more Roku video ads and bundling Fox One. Risks include a pricier NFL renewal and competition from Walmart-owned Vizio.
