Fortnite Cube Sprite release date, variants, locations, and uses. Learn when Fortnite's Cube Sprite releases, how its Storm Overdrive ability works, every known variant, and why it's one of Chapter 7 Season 3's strongest companions. by Priya Singh Updated Jul 22, 2026 What to know. * Cube Sprites release on July 23, 2026, during the weekly "New Sprite Day" update. * Their signature ability grants Overdrive while inside the Storm, making rotations and escapes significantly easier. * Multiple Cube-themed variants will be available, including several rare and Mythic versions. * Cube Sprites are expected to spawn through normal Sprite activities, including Sprite Chests and other Sprite-related encounters throughout the island. Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 continues expanding its Sprite system with another highly anticipated addition. After Galaxy, Gummy, Gold, Holofoil, Batman, and Seven Sprites, Epic Games is introducing the Cube Sprite collection. Inspired by Fortnite's iconic Cube (Kevin), these companions add a new gameplay-focused ability while also expanding the growing Sprite collection for players chasing every variant. Epic has confirmed the rollout as part of the weekly New Sprite schedule. Cube Sprite release date and timings. Epic Games has confirmed that Cube Sprites become available on Thursday, July 23, 2026, during the latest New Sprite Day refresh. Like previous weekly Sprite releases, they are expected to enter the game when the daily Sprite rotation resets. This continues Epic's weekly rollout schedule that has gradually introduced new Sprite families throughout Chapter 7 Season 3. What makes the Cube Sprite unique. Unlike earlier Sprite families that focused on mobility, scouting, or resource bonuses, the Cube Sprite specializes in surviving and moving through the Storm. Its primary effect grants Overdrive whenever you're inside the Storm, allowing you to reposition much more quickly while taking advantage of temporary Storm routes. This creates several strategic advantages: * Escaping the Storm circle faster. * Rotating through dangerous areas. * Extracting Sprites while avoiding enemy teams. * Looting Storm-edge POIs before returning safely. * Recovering after late-game fights. Because many players avoid spending time inside the Storm, this ability can create safer rotation paths that are otherwise too risky. All known Cube Sprite variants. Current information points to a large Cube-themed collection releasing over time. Datamined information indicates several rarity tiers, including standard, Legendary, and Mythic versions. Epic has not yet officially revealed every individual design, but the known lineup includes the following. Datamines currently suggest around eight Cube-themed Sprite variants will be introduced as part of this release cycle, although Epic could adjust the final list before or after launch. Where to find Cube Sprites. Cube Sprites are expected to appear through the same systems used by previous Sprite families. Players should look for them during regular exploration and Sprite-focused gameplay activities. The best places to search include Sprite Chests, Sprite Locator Chests, major named locations, and special Sprite encounters. Future Sprite Power Hour events may also temporarily increase their appearance rates, making them much easier to collect. How to get a Cube Sprite. * Update Fortnite after the July 23 content rollout. * Queue into Battle Royale or Zero Build once the New Sprite Day event begins. * Search Sprite Chests and other Sprite spawn locations across the island. * Interact with any Cube Sprite you discover to obtain its companion ability. * Continue collecting additional variants to expand your Sprite collection. Future Power Hour events can make this process considerably faster due to boosted Sprite activity. Every confirmed use for the Cube Sprite. The Overdrive bonus particularly shines during competitive matches where Storm positioning often determines the outcome of the final circles. How Cube Sprites compare to other recent Sprite variants. Rather than replacing previous Sprites, Cube Sprites add another specialized tool to the growing roster. Players who enjoy smart rotations or frequently play the edge of the Storm will likely find them among the strongest utility Sprites introduced so far. Why Cube Sprites could become part of the Season 3 meta. The current Chapter 7 Season 3 meta places heavy emphasis on positioning and efficient rotations. A Sprite that directly improves movement inside the Storm naturally becomes valuable during both casual matches and competitive play. The ability also complements players who intentionally delay rotations to secure additional loot or complete Sprite objectives before entering the next safe zone. Since most opponents avoid the Storm, Cube Sprite users may be able to travel with less pressure while maintaining Overdrive throughout their journey. As Epic continues releasing new Sprite variants each week, Cube Sprites appear positioned as one of the most practical utility options rather than simply another collectible.

Epic is webbing up The Battlewoods for the Fortnite Spider-Man Brand New Day collab. The new teaser for the Fortnite Spider-Man Brand New Day collab was shared by Epic on the game's official social media channels. In the post, the developers shared a video of The Battlewoods POI with the Spider-Man mural and Spidey's webs being scattered all over the POI. In addition to the video, the post's caption stated: "These webs look kinda familiar." This is a hint towards the Spider-Man Web Shooters finally returning to the Fortnite loot pool. Additionally, this might also be referencing the original Spider-Man collab in the game, which featured the Daily Bugle inside a volcano with webs all around it in Chapter 3 Season 1. Around the Daily Bugle, players could find and search Spider-Man's backpack for the Web Shooters Mythic. Epic could bring this mechanic back to the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 map, this time around The Battlewoods. As of now, Epic has not revealed any details of the upcoming Spider-Man Brand New Day Fortnite skins. However, along with the obvious new Spider-Man skin, players might finally see the addition of Jon Bernthal's Punisher and maybe even a new Hulk skin to the game. Apart from the skins and map changes, Epic could finally release the leaked Spider-Man Sprite to the game, which reportedly will also allow players to use Spider-Man's Web Shooters to web swing. All of the content related to the Fortnite Brand New Day collab is expected to release on July 30, 2026, with the next Fortnite update. This would also line up with the global release of Spider-Man Brand New Day, which is scheduled for the following day, July 31, 2026. Fortnite hotfix buffs Sprite Locator gizmo making rare sprite variants easier to find. Published: July 21, 2026 Image Credit: Beebom * Fortnite's July 21 hotfix has buffed the Sprite Locator gizmo, which was added with the 41.20 patch. * The gizmo now gives players a much higher chance of spawning a sprite variant instead of a base sprite. * Any player who has used a Sprite Locator till now will receive three free locators in their loadout. Fortnite has dropped a surprise hotfix that buffs the newly added Sprite Locator gizmo in Chapter 7 Season 3. The hotfix was deployed on July 21, 2026, and it fixes a major lingering issue among players who are hunting Fortnite Sprites. According to the Fortnite Status X post, the Sprite Locator gizmo now provides players with a "higher chance of spawning a sprite variant, and a very low chance to spawn a base sprite." This means that Fortnite players who have been using the Sprite Locator ever since it was introduced in the 41.20 update will come across rarer Sprite variants like Galaxy, Gummy, Gold, and so on, rather than the usual base variant. Not just that; to rectify the gizmo's ineffectiveness over the past few days, Epic is also granting all players who used any extraction gizmo in a Fortnite match three free Sprite Locators. You'll be able to claim them when you log into Fortnite. Apart from the Sprite Locator, Epic also added the Extraction Booster gizmo, which speeds up Extraction Crates at sites across the island. But the go-to gizmo that players have been using so far is a Portable Extractor, which can instantly extract your Sprite from anywhere across the map. But your luck of finding rare sprites isn't just limited to Sprite events like Sprite Hours or a gizmo like Sprite Locator, which marks a Sprite Chest nearby. When the latest Fortnite update went live last week, one more gizmo, Lucky Locator, was leaked, which finds sprites on the map that are missing from your collection. As of yet, we don't know when Lucky Locator will be added to the island, but according to our speculation, it may be introduced when the next Fortnite update 41.30 goes live on July 30, 2026.
