- The candidate must be familiar with Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations as they apply to the community residence program and agency policies.
- The candidate must be familiar with Office of Mental Health regulations.
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field is required.
- The candidate must have a minimum of two years of supervisory experience.

- The Assistant Program Director provides supervision of Case Management services to ensure quality care for adults who have experienced homelessness and mental illness.
- The Assistant Program Director supervises all program staff in conjunction with the Program and Regional Director in the absence of the Program Director.
- The Assistant Program Director provides direct supervision of all program staff regarding Case Management.
- The Assistant Program Director develops and implements individual client service plans in conjunction with clinical staff, the counseling team, and the client.
- The Assistant Program Director ensures that client contracts reflect service-plan goals and assists counselors in developing intervention goals and activities that support the service plan.
- The Assistant Program Director coordinates the Annual Functional Assessment Review for each client and submits reports and recommendations to the Utilization Review Committee.
- The Assistant Program Director maintains contact with other service agencies and ensures client placement for treatment and program activities, which may include volunteer job placement.
- The Assistant Program Director coordinates with the Intake Coordinator to orient and transition all new residents into the program.
- The Assistant Program Director participates in discharge planning.
- The Assistant Program Director provides emergency and relief coverage as necessary.
- The Assistant Program Director may represent the agency with community groups and agencies.
- The Assistant Program Director prepares reports for the Regional Director of Behavioral Health Services and the Vice President of Behavioral Health Services, including problems and proposals for changes in policies or program design.
- The Assistant Program Director conducts supervisory meetings with all staff and maintains documentation of these meetings.
- The Assistant Program Director performs other duties as assigned.
- A Master's degree is preferred.
- A professional license as a Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor is preferred.
- Experience working with different populations is preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking ability is preferred.
S:US helps New Yorkers who face homelessness, disability, behavioral health and addiction challenges, poverty, criminal justice involvement, and trauma access a wide range of supports across New York City and Long Island. It coordinates services such as case management, housing and stabilization, behavioral health treatment, recovery supports, rehabilitation, advocacy, and community-based programs tailored to each person’s needs. By linking housing, health, justice, and community resources, S:US delivers integrated, place-based services that address multiple barriers at once rather than focusing on a single issue. The goal is to help people lead purposeful lives, improve neighborhoods, and break the cycle of poverty for current and future generations of New Yorkers.
