Requirements
  • 2 years of appointment scheduling, insurance verification or registration experience in a hospital or physician office
  • Medical Terminology preferred
  • Must be proficient in Flow cast registration, pre-certifications, authorizations, referrals
  • Excellent customer service skills with strong interpersonal skills and phone etiquette
  • Must be knowledgeable of medical terminology, medical insurance, professional billing requirements and must possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Must be skilled in use of computers and applications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • All incumbents must satisfactorily complete a Cooper systems training program to include Registration, Scheduling, E-Commerce and FSC
  • All new employees must be trained in appointment scheduling and Patient Registration and successfully PASS all IDX training requirements within their probationary period
  • IDX Training includes MCA Models, Registration, Basic Management and Eligibilities requirements
Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality patient scheduling and access to professional services
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain positive telephone etiquette and customer satisfaction in support of the mission of Cooper University Hospital and Cooper University Physicians
  • Assist patients with scheduling, registrations and insurance verification in a hospital or physician office environment
  • Assist with medical terminology and billing related inquiries as needed
  • Use computer systems and applications effectively to manage patient appointments, registrations and related workflows
  • Communicate professionally with patients and co-workers and project Cooper's values
  • Support coordination of patient access and care workflows as part of the patient intake process
  • Ensure accuracy in registration, scheduling, verifications and referrals as part of daily tasks
