About the job

Requirements
  • Experience leading engineering teams building cloud platforms, infrastructure, developer tooling, or distributed systems.
  • A strong technical background and ability to engage credibly in architecture and design discussions.
  • A good understanding of cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, Kubernetes, and containers.
  • A good understanding of platform engineering, including application programming interfaces, automation, identity and access management, observability, and reliability.
  • A good understanding of distributed systems, including scaling, consistency, and failure handling.
  • A good understanding of engineering operations, including incident response, capacity, performance, and production ownership.
  • Proven experience in people management, hiring, coaching, and performance development.
  • Strong delivery and prioritisation skills across competing priorities.
  • Comfort working closely with product and other engineering leaders in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to balance technical quality, delivery speed, reliability, and team sustainability.
  • Ability to learn new domains quickly, including GPUs, networks, and storage.
  • Ability to welcome challenges to one's ideas and communicate candidly with care.
  • Enjoyment of building processes in an environment where much remains to be built.
  • Ability to move quickly while maintaining high standards.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and help colleagues improve.
  • Ability to build strong teams and help engineers grow.
  • Technical judgement to challenge designs and guide trade-offs without owning every implementation detail.
  • Ability to create clarity and drive complex work to completion.
  • Systems thinking to understand how platform components and teams fit together.
  • Operational mindset focused on reliability, maintainability, and production quality.
  • Ownership of both team health and engineering outcomes.
Responsibilities
  • Lead one engineering stream end to end, owning its people, delivery, and production outcomes.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of about nine engineers across platform, infrastructure, and distributed systems.
  • Own team execution across planning, prioritisation, delivery, quality, and operational readiness.
  • Partner with product to turn priorities into clear technical plans and achievable milestones.
  • Provide technical leadership on architecture, reliability, scalability, and engineering trade-offs.
  • Set engineering practices for design, testing, observability, documentation, and incident learning.
  • Improve team effectiveness through clear ownership, healthy processes, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Hire, onboard, and retain high-performing engineers; hiring is a large part of the first year, at around two hours a day.
  • Support career development through regular feedback, coaching, and progression planning.
  • Manage technical risk, dependencies, and delivery challenges across complex platform initiatives.
  • Bring AI-assisted engineering into daily work within the organisation's guardrails.
  • Build a culture of ownership, pragmatism, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with GPU, high-performance computing, or AI infrastructure.

About the company

Radiant builds and operates utility-scale AI infrastructure to deliver sovereign AI cloud compute through owned data centers, long-term capital, and proprietary software. It runs AI factories that provide scalable, resilient compute for governments, enterprises, and telecom providers, enabling rapid deployment of AI workloads at scale. After merging with Ori Industries, Radiant integrates distributed AI software with its hardware to form a global AI utility that lowers energy costs and reduces dependence on centralized clouds. Its goal is to create a secure, scalable AI platform that serves distributed locations worldwide, balancing land, capital, and software to support large-scale AI applications.

What believers are saying

  • Feb. 24, 2026 launch created a $1.3 billion platform with rolled-in Ori investors.
  • Radiant claims direct access to Brookfield's $100 billion AI infrastructure program.
  • Ori Global AI Cloud keeps on-demand bare metal, GPU instances, and fine-tuning offerings live.

What critics are saying

  • Radiant depends on Brookfield funding and contract wins to justify its capital-intensive model.
  • NVIDIA chip supply concentration and rapid obsolescence can strand Radiant's data-center investments.
  • Execution failure on sovereign contracts or deployment delays destroys the utility-scale thesis entirely.

What makes Radiant unique

  • Feb. 24, 2026 merger fused Ori software with Brookfield-powered infrastructure.
  • Radiant pairs powered land, long-term capital, and sovereign-cloud software under one operator.
  • NVIDIA DSX, Blackwell, and GB200 NVL72 make Radiant a purpose-built AI factory platform.
