Requirements
  • A master's degree (MSc, MEng, or equivalent) in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, or a related engineering field.
  • Four years of relevant experience researching and applying modern artificial intelligence and machine learning in areas such as scene understanding, multimodal sensing, control and path planning, or vision-language understanding.
  • The ability to write clean and maintainable code in Python, Rust, C++, or Java.
  • Experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to document work effectively and present it to relevant stakeholders and users.
  • A passion for identifying and implementing pragmatic solutions to difficult problems using artificial intelligence and conventional algorithms.
  • Existing right to work in the United Kingdom at the time of application.
  • Holding security clearance or being willing to undergo United Kingdom security vetting to Security Check or above.
Responsibilities
  • Work with customers to identify and understand their problems.
  • Design end-to-end artificial intelligence solutions from the sensor to the user interface.
  • Train, evaluate, test, and productionise robust and performant deep learning models to solve real-world challenges.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to integrate models into enterprise software products and resource-constrained hardware systems.
  • Invent novel capabilities and optimise existing approaches while remaining aware of the ethical implications of engineering decisions.
  • Document and explain solutions to provide evidence of compliance with policies regarding the safe use of artificial intelligence.
  • Build secure, robust solutions by adhering to coding standards throughout the development lifecycle.
Desired Qualifications
  • A PhD in computer vision, machine learning, robotics, or a related field.
  • Authored publications in top-tier journals and conferences such as CVPR, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICCV, ICRA, IROS, or TPAMI.
  • Experience working with MLOps infrastructure or deploying artificial intelligence models to production, including associated monitoring, testing, and quality assurance.
  • An understanding of different sensor modalities, their trade-offs, and relevant methods for processing their outputs to drive performance in challenging scenarios.
  • Experience creating and optimising state-of-the-art artificial intelligence models for resource-constrained hardware.
  • Experience with synthetic data generation or simulation, or with collecting and managing large real-world datasets.
