RWS Holdings, a London-listed AI solutions company, has agreed to acquire Acogroup, parent company of language services provider Acolad, for £22.4 million ($26 million) in enterprise value. Total consideration is £40.2 million, including roughly £17.8 million for cash held at closing. Founded in 1995 and headquartered near Paris, Acolad operates across 22 countries in Europe and North America with about 1,200 employees. The company reported revenue of £182 million and adjusted EBITDA of £13 million for the year ending 31 December 2025. Roughly half of Acolad's revenue comes from regulated industries, whilst about 75% derives from localisation services. RWS said the deal would extend its AI platforms to more enterprise clients, particularly in Western Europe. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of RWS's 2027 fiscal year, pending regulatory approvals.

RWS launches new linguistic validation service to significantly reduce clinical trial timelines. RWS July 14, 2026 New service brings critical eCOA trial services together under one program team to speed global studies MAIDENHEAD, England, July 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - RWS (AIM: RWS.L), a global AI solutions company, today launched a new tech-enabled eCOA translation and linguistic validation service designed to help pharmaceutical companies, clinical research organizations (CROs) and eCOA providers reduce delays in global clinical trials. The service brings together COA licensing, source validation, multilingual translation, Trados-enabled eCOA migration, intelligent workflows, rater training and dedicated program management under a single, integrated operating model - delivered by one program team with end-to-end governance and a single point of accountability across the entire COA lifecycle. Global clinical trials depend on precise timing, and language is often one of the greatest pressure points. In a global study, every week counts: sponsors need to move from instrument access to eCOA go-live without putting study start-up, site activation or regulatory submissions at risk. Yet many organizations still manage licensing, translation, eCOA migration and rater training across multiple vendors, systems and disconnected workstreams. The result is familiar - handoffs multiply, accountability blurs, visibility narrows, and small delays compound into significant operational and regulatory risk. RWS's service addresses this by redesigning the delivery model around dedicated program management and intelligent workflows. A single leadership team owns planning, execution, communication, risk management and delivery at every stage, from licensing through to global deployment. "Bringing eCOA translation, linguistic validation and rater training together under one program team is exactly the kind of service model global clinical trials need," said Martial Marcotti, EVP & Chief Product Officer at Kayentis, a leading eCOA vendor. "Across many studies and therapeutic areas, we've come to rely on RWS as a trusted partner because they understand both the operational pressure sponsors face and the quality standards regulated research demands. An integrated approach like this can simplify global study execution, reduce handoffs and help sponsors move faster without compromising endpoint quality, compliance or the patient experience." As part of this transformation, RWS has expanded its digital health portfolio to include rater training, bringing together COA licensing, source validation, linguistic validation, eCOA migration, and rater training into one integrated delivery program. By removing traditional service silos, sponsors benefit from streamlined communication, consistent governance, simplified vendor management, and improved coordination from instrument acquisition through study execution. "Clinical teams shouldn't have to choose between speed and scientific standards," said Dan Herron, Global Vice President, Digital Health at RWS. "For more than a decade, the industry has relied on fragmented delivery models for licensing, source validation, linguistic validation, eCOA migration and rater training. We've reimagined that approach by bringing every service together under a single program - creating a faster, more connected and more scalable model that helps sponsors reduce complexity, protect endpoint quality and accelerate global study execution." RWS is also investing in AI-powered tools and smart automation to augment subject matter experts - automating repetitive tasks, strengthening quality oversight and accelerating delivery while preserving the scientific rigor and regulatory compliance global research demands. RWS launches Trados Studio 2026, delivering major advances in AI, performance and productivity. July 2, 2026 RWS (AIM: RWS.L), a global AI solutions company, has announced the launch of Trados Studio 2026, the newest version of the world's most widely used computer-assisted translation (CAT) tool. Built with direct input from the Trados community, including professional freelance translators and RWS's language specialists, Trados Studio 2026 offers significant performance, AI and terminology enhancements, including brand new options to bring the world's most advanced AI translation engine, Language Weaver Pro, into the Trados ecosystem. Together they help language professionals work faster while keeping control of the quality, terminology and client-specific knowledge that define their work. The release gives Trados Studio users greater capacity for complex translation work. The next-generation architecture is built for demanding translation environments, so teams can manage larger files, bigger translation memories, richer term bases and AI-powered features with greater speed and stability. That means smoother project handling and more confidence when working on high-volume translation projects. In testing, large and complex files opened up to seven times faster than in previous versions. "Trados Studio 2026 reflects the way professional translation is changing. Language professionals need tools that are faster, more flexible and more intelligent, but they also need to retain control over the quality and knowledge that define their work. This release brings performance, context-aware AI and trusted linguistic resources together in one environment, helping users take on more complex projects while continuing to deliver the standards their clients expect," said Matt Hardy, SVP of Products at RWS. Trados Studio 2026 also brings large language models (LLMs) directly into the professional translation workflow. Users can now benefit from access to Language Weaver Pro natively within Trados. Released in March 2026 and built specifically for translators, Language Weaver Pro outperforms alternative AI models on translation tasks in 31 of 32 languages. Trados Studio 2026 also supports the most common third-party models such as ChatGPT, Claude and DeepSeek for full flexibility and sophistication. AI-generated translations are grounded in trusted linguistic resources, including translation memories, terminology and custom prompts. This gives users more accurate first drafts while keeping them in control of quality, style and client-specific requirements. Another key innovation is the move toward more context-aware AI. Instead of relying only on isolated sentence-by-sentence processing, Trados Studio 2026 can take the broader document context into account before generating a suggestion, so first drafts land closer to the intended meaning, tone and terminology and need less correction. The result is a more practical way to work with AI, with human expertise at the center of the process. More than 250,000 translation professionals use Trados Studio worldwide. Trados Studio 2026 builds on that community, with many of its improvements shaped directly by the translators, reviewers, project managers and enterprise teams who rely on Trados Studio daily. Trados Studio 2026 is available now through subscription and upgrade options. About RWS.
