Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an American Medical Association approved school, plus three additional months of training.
  • Ability to meet requirements for Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or certification by the Board of Examiners.
Responsibilities
  • Performs Computerized Tomographic procedures in accordance with hospital standards, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Have a full knowledge of cross section anatomy and computer applications specific to CT.
  • Practices in accordance with National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Verifies the presence of images and accurate documentation in the Picture Achieving Communication System.
  • Assures accuracy of information provided and the quality of images.
  • Interviews patients relative to pertinent information and clinical history to complete the necessary forms.
  • Provides patients, families and others with instructions and educational information to complete the requested procedure.
  • Provides the necessary documentation to ensure compliance in a multidisciplinary approach for patient care.
  • Participates in the on-going process of Continuous Quality Improvement via documentation, data collection and customer satisfaction.
  • Understands and applies patient relations skills.
  • Assumes responsibility for the provision of physical and psychological needs of the patient during the procedure.
  • Demonstrates commitment to a Culture of Patient Safety and High Reliability through use of the New Jersey STRONG patient safety behaviors.
  • Engages in reducing unsafe practices and improving the culture of safety through implementation of best practices as appropriate for the discipline.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
