Statt Attack: JackJumpers upgrade guard's deal. 15 Oct 2026 tasmania jackjumpers Kody Stattmann has earned a full-time spot with the Tasmania JackJumpers after impressing as an injury replacement. By. NBL.com.au. Photo: Tasmania JackJumpers Media. The Tasmania JackJumpers officially announced the signing of Kody Stattmann to their roster for Hungry Jack's NBL27 Season on Thursday, following the retirement of Anthony Drmic. The 26-year-old from Cairns originally joined the JackJumpers ahead of Round 3 as an Injury Replacement Player. JackJumpers Coach Scott Roth described Stattmann as being labelled by the League before he was thrown the lifeline by the JackJumpers, making an impact from that first game. "Kody was... basically on the street about 10 days ago but now he's playing in an NBL game for us and having an important contribution," Roth said. "It's a great credit to these guys trying to change the label of what people may think about them. "We'll just keep reloading and keep finding players that want to do it the Jackies way." Meanwhile, fellow JackJumper Ben Ayre is continuing his rehab for his hip-flexor injury, with 23-year-old guard Biwali Bayles extending his Nominated Replacement Player tenure for another week. Tasmania host Adelaide on Friday night from 7.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN.

McDonald's Australia brings AI chatbot to drive-thru.

McDonald's Australia brings AI chatbot to drive-thru. Thursday, 24 September 2026 - 11:29 McDonald's has launched a trial of an AI-powered drive-thru ordering system in Australia, with the technology being tested at a restaurant in Western Sydney. The fast-food chain says the system is designed to streamline the order-taking process and allow crew members to devote more time to food preparation and customer service. McDonald's Australia has confirmed that AI ordering technology is being used at selected drive-thru locations, with Google identified as the technology service provider. The company's privacy notice states that drive-thru interactions may be recorded and transcribed for order-taking and service improvement. The initiative forms part of McDonald's broader efforts to use artificial intelligence to improve restaurant operations. The company has also been testing its Google-powered ArchIQ platform, known internally as "Archy", for automated drive-thru ordering in the United States. McDonald's has stressed that the technology is intended to support restaurant employees rather than replace them, and customers can still choose to order directly from a human crew member. The Australian trial comes as other fast-food chains also explore AI-assisted drive-thru ordering. Hungry Jack's is trialling its own AI assistant, while KFC has tested similar technology at several Sydney locations. Discover more Download Travel Guides Compare Smart TVs Download Interactive Maps

Hungry Jack's launches NBL Slam Dunk Packs from $29.95.

Hungry Jack's launches NBL Slam Dunk Packs from $29.95. by Will Hawke · Published September 20, 2026, 11:45 pm AEST · Updated September 21, 2026, 12:23 am AEST Hungry Jack's has launched two new NBL Slam Dunk Packs, with customers able to choose between a Whopper-based bundle for $29.95 pickup or a Jack's Fried Chicken version for $32.95 pickup. Both packs include four burgers, two chips and two drinks, making them sizeable two-person meal deals timed to coincide with the start of the Hungry Jack's NBL27 season. Contents [show] NBL Slam Dunk Pack is $29.95 for pickup. The standard NBL Slam Dunk Pack costs $29.95 for pickup and contains: * 2 Whoppers * 2 Cheeseburgers * 2 small Thick Cut Chips * 2 small drinks If you split the pack between two people, that works out to about $14.98 each, with each person effectively getting a Whopper, Cheeseburger, small chips and small drink. Hungry Jack's promoted the pack nationally on September 14 at the $29.95 price, describing it as a new NBL-themed value bundle. Jack's Fried Chicken Slam Dunk Pack costs $32.95. There is also a chicken version for $32.95 pickup. The Jack's Fried Chicken NBL Slam Dunk Pack includes: * 2 Classic Jack's Fried Chicken burgers * 2 Chicken Royales * 2 small Thick Cut Chips * 2 small drinks At $32.95, splitting the pack between two people works out to approximately $16.48 per person for two chicken burgers, chips and a drink each. The chicken option costs $3 more than the Whopper-based pack, so the beef version remains the cheaper of the two if you are mainly looking at the total amount of food for the price. Upgrade both chips and drinks to medium or large. The advertised prices include two small chips and two small drinks, but Hungry Jack's also lets you upgrade the pack. Discover more Coupons & Discount Offers Upgrading the included sides and drinks to medium costs $3 extra for the pack, while upgrading to large costs $6 extra. That makes the current pickup prices: | Pack | Small | Medium | Large | | NBL Slam Dunk Pack | $29.95 | $32.95 | $35.95 | | Jack's Fried Chicken NBL Slam Dunk Pack | $32.95 | $35.95 | $38.95 | The upgrades change the chips and drinks rather than adding additional burgers. If two people are sharing, the large beef pack still works out to just under $18 each, while the large chicken version is approximately $19.48 each. Pickup is considerably cheaper than some delivery listings. Discover more Advertising & Marketing Online shopping discounts If you want the advertised value, pickup is the better option. Current Uber Eats listings checked across several Hungry Jack's restaurants show the NBL Slam Dunk Pack at around $39.95 for delivery, with the Jack's Fried Chicken version around $43.95. Delivery-platform pricing can vary by restaurant and may also be accompanied by service or delivery fees. That compares with the current $29.95 and $32.95 pickup prices, a difference of roughly $10 or more before any delivery fees at the stores checked. Hungry Jack's official menu provides both a Pick Up on App option and delivery ordering for the packs, although the company does not publish a single national delivery price on its own product pages. Prices and availability should therefore be checked against your selected restaurant before ordering. The new packs arrive for the Hungry Jack's NBL27 season. The basketball-themed bundles have arrived alongside the start of the Hungry Jack's NBL27 season, which tipped off on Saturday, September 19, 2026. The new season includes 165 games across 21 rounds, with Hungry Jack's continuing as the competition's naming-rights partner. Hungry Jack's is also running its returning NBL free Cheeseburger promotion this season, giving fans another NBL-linked food offer when the required missed-free-throw conditions are triggered during eligible games. Cairns secures six franchise conferences thanks to bleisure appeal.

Cairns secures six franchise conferences thanks to bleisure appeal. 4 September 2026 * Six franchise conferences are being held in Cairns this year attracting 3450 delegates Tropical North Queensland's bleisure appeal is major factor in the latest conferences heading to Cairns. Six franchise conferences are being held in Cairns this year, including the Body Fit Conference which has returned for the second year in a row. The conferences are expected to attract 3450 delegates to Tropical North Queensland, Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) partnerships and events general manager Tara Bennett said multiple franchises were choosing Cairns for their annual conference allowing franchise owners to combine their business commitments with a holiday. "Since the National Franchise Convention for 360 was held at the Cairns Convention Centre in May 2024, attention has turned to our destination for its ability to deliver a world-class business event in an international destination," she said. "Cairns has attracted 13 franchise conferences bringing more than 6000 delegates who injected $27 million into the region. "Food outlets, pool shops, pharmacies, builders and gyms are among the diverse franchises to combine business with pleasure at conferences held at the Cairns Convention Centre and CBD hotels. "The ease of getting to Cairns from any Australian destination, New Zealand and Southeast Asia, and then travelling just 10 minutes from the airport to your city accommodation is attractive to busy franchise owners. "Delegates enjoy bringing their families to enjoy a pre- or post-conference getaway in the only place where two World Heritage areas are side by side. "More than 20 per cent of delegates extend their stay and meeting organisers tell us that the destination's appeal is a significant factor in their marketing as it generates delegate interest." The 2026 Carpet Court Australia Conference (600 delegates) mixed education and an exhibition with networking across venues including the Cairns Convention Centre, Crystalbrook Flynn, Hemingway's Brewery, and The Tanks Art Centre. Event organiser Rebecca Sullivan from Impact said delegates were given a day off in the middle of the conference to give members time to absorb the content. "This was one of the most repeated positives in the event's feedback with delegates heading to the Great Barrier Reef, joining a coach trip for a day out in Port Douglas, or golfing at Yorkey's Knob," she said. Bennett said the ability for a brand to take over a compact city like Cairns was also a drawcard. "The 2024 Hungry Jack's National Convention was among the larger franchise conferences with 950 delegates walking along the Esplanade each day in their brand shirts and heading to offsite events in a 'Still fired Up!' custom-branded bus," she said. "The Hungry Jack's brand was highly visible with a new Hungry Jack's opening on Sheridan St, custom-branded LED welcome signage at Cairns airport, and custom-made lager at Hemingway's Brewery called Thirsty Jack's."
