Requirements
  • Registration with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography in Abdomen/Small Parts plus at least two additional certifications, such as Registered Vascular Technologist, Obstetrics/Gynecology, or Musculoskeletal Ultrasound.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Demonstrated expertise in scrotal, pelvic, and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
  • At least 3 years of United States hospital experience.
  • Experience working as an Ultrasound Technician in a hospital within the last 6 months.
  • Maintenance of professional liability insurance and availability for at least 6 months.
  • Recent hospital laboratory experience as a Vascular Ultrasound Technician.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above the shoulders during the work shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to carry up to 40 pounds a reasonable distance.
  • Ability to push or pull with 30 pounds of force.
  • No visa sponsorship is available.
Responsibilities
  • Perform abdominal, liver, renal, gynecologic, vascular, and small-parts ultrasound examinations.
  • Handle complex scanning and consult with radiologists for non-standard examinations.
  • Complete computer documentation, quality assurance image review, and picture archiving and communication system transfers.
  • Schedule and prioritize examinations, including emergency add-ons.
  • Maintain radiation safety compliance and required personal protective equipment practices.
  • Maintain patient records, logbooks, and radiology information system/hospital information system documentation.
  • Perform on-call emergency scans with 24/7 availability when scheduled.
  • Independently resolve scan issues and notify the Chief Technologist of unusual cases.
