Requirements
  • An active Secret clearance is required.
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Ten years of experience planning, coordinating, directing, and administering Force Weapons.
  • Ten years of experience directly related to the operation, maintenance, diagnosis, repair, overhaul, modification, testing, certification, and safety of air- and surface-launched weapon systems, including stowage and handling systems.
  • Ten years of experience overseeing activities, plans, and strategy for critical Warfighting Information Systems, Precision Integrated Technologies control systems, and Combat, Weapon, and Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical systems.
  • Ten years of experience analyzing military weapon requirements and fleet inputs in the Warfighting requirements process.
  • Basic computer literacy and data-entry skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future.
  • Ability to remain seated in a stationary position for 50% of the time and alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Ability to perform physical activities including prolonged standing, recurring walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing in shops, industrial work areas, aboard ships or submarines, and in weapon facilities.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct, independent on-site engineering and technical service to Force Weapons, the Force Engineer, and Ship’s Maintenance Planning Managers supporting conventional surface- and air-launched weapon systems.
  • Provide technical assistance on weapon-system stowage, handling, and maintenance, including operation, diagnosis, repair, overhaul, modification, testing, certification, and safety activities for air- and surface-launched weapon systems.
  • Support development of weapons- and system-related ship alterations, repairs, modernization, and maintenance planning; review draft and updated Airborne Weapon and Target Naval Training Systems Plans and provide assessments to the Force Weapons Officer.
  • Collaborate with CNAL and CNAP codes, primarily N46, to align feedback with CVN leadership and assess unit-level weapon-system requirements affecting deployment and operational certification.
  • Collect, review, integrate, and analyze weapon-system and elevator data for trend-analysis forecasting of Fleet- and Force-level deficiencies; develop logic trees representing CVN readiness across mission areas.
  • Create guidance and requirements for Carrier Readiness by coordinating with COMNAVAIRLANT and COMNAVAIRPAC.
  • Provide bid and proposal support when requested.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior U.S. Navy active-duty air-enlisted rating or air-designated Officer experience.
  • Prior DLCPO or WCS experience aboard a CVN.
  • Experience coordinating security-force weapons and ammunition issues.
  • Experience as a military weapons subject-matter expert in watch-team conduct and operations and the use of handheld and crew-served weapons.
  • Experience monitoring critical supply requirements with weapons-system managers.
