Requirements
  • The candidate must hold current active state licensure as an Anesthesiologist Assistant in Georgia and comply with applicable state statutory and regulatory requirements concerning Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants.
  • The candidate must be a graduate of a Master's degree program in Anesthesia.
  • The candidate must be insurable by an appropriate medical malpractice insurer for the limits required by the institution or state.
  • The candidate must demonstrate current competency in the clinical responsibilities.
  • The candidate must be able to perform clinically as an anesthetist in the facility setting on a regular basis.
  • The candidate must be able to operate, use, and interpret data from a wide variety of equipment to perform anesthesia care and necessary perioperative or operating room care supporting patient safety and wellbeing while under the direct care of the Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are required to collaborate with clinical staff and other disciplines.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient populations served.
  • The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the life span and assess data reflecting population-specific and age-specific patient needs.
  • The candidate must know infection prevention and control techniques.
  • The candidate must be able to maintain confidential records.
  • The candidate must be able to implement and adhere to facility policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants work under the direction of licensed anesthesiologists to implement anesthesia care plans.
  • Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants work exclusively within the anesthesia care team environment described by the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
  • Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants deliver and maintain quality anesthesia care and perform advanced patient monitoring.
  • Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants provide perioperative or operating room care to support patient safety and wellbeing.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year of experience is preferred.
  • Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants is preferred.
