Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 7–10 years of experience as a Senior Project Manager with a major general contractor is required.
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with construction project management applications, are required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to interface directly with owners' representatives, the architect/engineer team, building departments, and other team members.
  • Strong leadership skills are required, including coaching, mentoring, and the ability to build and maintain motivated teams.
  • Highly developed project management finance skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage financial administration and establish project goals and objectives, evaluate project financial performance monthly, and promote and develop Smart Contracting.
  • Comply with accounting policies and procedures, provide accurate financial forecasting, maximize cash flow, and meet financial reporting deadlines.
  • Manage risk in accordance with company guidelines, identify ways to improve operating returns, and resolve claims in a timely manner.
  • Preserve corporate culture and philosophies.
  • Mentor others, promote the mission and vision, and encourage employee growth.
  • Participate in new-hire recruitment, foster university relationships, and promote the employee referral program.
  • Ensure compliance with Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Participate in business development, advance strategies aligned with the business unit, and analyze market and client trends.
  • Evaluate project risk/reward potential, utilize the Proposing to Win process, select project teams and resources, and develop specific project approaches.
  • Participate in proposal and presentation development, post-award project debriefing, and recognition of project successes.
  • Lead the entire guaranteed maximum price/lump-sum process, participate in preconstruction contractual obligations, and comply with preconstruction procedures and policies.
  • Oversee project operations and monitor budget, schedule, and profitability.
  • Participate in owner, architect, contractor, and other project meetings and monitor compliance with contract documents.
  • Review and approve subcontract agreements and change orders and ensure timely project closeout.
  • Establish a personal professional development plan and maintain licenses, certifications, and registrations.
  • Maintain visibility with clients, develop effective relationships, service interim client needs, and maintain open communication.
  • Participate in community organizations, encourage employee involvement in community activities, ensure project teams are responsive to community needs, and support charities and civic organizations.
  • Maintain visibility with subcontractors, develop effective relationships, monitor subcontractor buyout and negotiations, and develop subcontractor strategies for projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
