About the job

Requirements
  • At least 10 years of cybersecurity experience as a software engineer, rather than solely in auditing, penetration testing, or operational triage.
  • Hands-on ability to design secure systems, write code when needed, coach engineering teams on writing more secure code, and evaluate cybersecurity tools; the candidate should not be solely a high-level theorist or academic.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing security architecture for regulated or critical systems and platforms at national or enterprise scale, rather than only providing testing and assurance.
  • Working command of Singapore regulatory frameworks for critical systems, such as WOG IM8 (Reform), and ability to translate obligations into architecture and delineate control inheritance for audit scoping.
  • Ability to reason about a national platform as an interdependent whole, including boundaries, failure modes, recoverability, and concentration risk.
  • Depth in cloud and platform security architecture across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS; identity; encryption and key management; segmentation and zero-trust patterns; and secure SDLC and policy-as-code.
  • Fluency with architectural and adversary frameworks, including MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS benchmarks, and ability to use them to drive design decisions.
  • Ability to operate as a technical design authority alongside a CISO within the first line and produce architecture that withstands regulatory and audit scrutiny.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or automation language, such as Python, TypeScript, or Shell/Bash, for policy-as-code and tooling.
Responsibilities
  • Own the reference security architecture, including trust boundaries, identity architecture, segmentation and trust-zone strategy, east-west controls, encryption and key management, and blast-radius containment.
  • Embed secure-by-design controls by working with product and engineering teams throughout delivery, including design, solutioning, and implementation, rather than relying on post-build validation.
  • Maintain a living threat model for systems and trust boundaries, referenced to MITRE ATT&CK and relevant adversary classes, including supply-chain threats, and use it to guide architecture and segmentation decisions.
  • Engineer platform recoverability and graceful degradation, including degraded-mode operation, recovery objectives, and containment designs that preserve critical business operations during cyber incidents.
  • Map and manage dependency and concentration risk across customers, partners, third-party providers, and supply-chain integrations.
  • Design and participate in cyber resilience exercises and incorporate lessons learned into the architecture.
  • Partner with security leadership as the technical design authority to define digital architecture and security boundaries using multi-layered defence, translating security and regulatory requirements into practical architecture decisions.
  • Co-develop defensible architecture and resilience strategies for stakeholder, audit, and regulatory engagements.
  • Determine and document which security controls are inherited from enterprise platforms and shared services, such as cloud platforms, centralized monitoring, CI/CD guardrails, and baseline security controls, versus those application teams must build and maintain.
  • Maintain shared responsibility models as architectural artefacts to define ownership and audit boundaries.
  • Express security control intent as code through pipeline guardrails, policy-as-code, and continuous control monitoring so conformance can be observed continuously.
  • Champion secure SDLC and agile security practices within engineering teams, enabling teams without creating delivery bottlenecks.
  • Provide advisory and incident response engineering support in coordination with security and operational stakeholders.
  • Scope external security assessments and penetration testing and provide engineering guidance; remediation validation is performed independently.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency in both the Kotlin/JVM stack and TypeScript.
  • Architecture-oriented certifications such as CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, SABSA, or cloud security architecture certifications.
  • Incident-response and offensive certifications.

42% of consumers confused by life insurance policies, 1 in 4 abandon purchase

Life insurers face a relevance crisis, according to the World Life Insurance Report 2027 from Capgemini and LIMRA. The study surveyed over 6,100 consumers globally and found that whilst 47% consider buying life insurance, more than 40% feel confused or unconvinced by available information. One in four abandon the purchase process. Younger consumers aged 18-40 are particularly affected, with 28% dropping out before completion. Technical language, affordability concerns, and perceived irrelevance drive these exits. The report reveals nearly 40% of policyholders rarely hear from insurers post-purchase, and half who discontinue do so within three years. However, best-in-class insurers—representing just 10% of carriers—achieved 41% higher revenue growth and 12% lower lapse rates through personalised engagement and data-driven strategies.

HMRC awards Capgemini $47M SAP migration contract, extending 28-year relationship

The UK's HM Revenue & Customs has awarded Capgemini a £37 million contract to migrate its Enterprise Tax Management Platform from SAP ECC 6.0 to S/4HANA. The contract runs until 2032, potentially extending Capgemini's involvement with HMRC's tax systems to 28 years since the relationship began in 2004. The platform handles more than £800 billion in tax revenue and payments annually for 40,000 users. HMRC insisted the procurement was fair and competitive, with several bidders competing from the Digital Legacy Application Services framework. Capgemini became HMRC's lead technology supplier in 2004 under the Aspire contract. A 2014 parliamentary committee found that Aspire cost £7.9 billion between 2004 and 2014, generating £1.2 billion in combined profit for Capgemini and Fujitsu.

Capgemini raises 2026 revenue growth target to 8.5-9% after strong H1 performance

Capgemini has upgraded its 2026 revenue growth outlook following strong first-half performance. The French IT services firm now expects constant currency revenue growth of around 8.5% to 9.0%, up from its previous target of 6.5% to 8.5%. The company reported revenues of €12.1 billion in the first half of 2026, up 8.8% year-on-year, with constant currency growth of 11.3%. Operating margin reached 12.5% of revenues, up 10 basis points year-on-year. Chief executive Aiman Ezzat attributed the performance to strong demand for AI-driven transformation services, particularly agentic AI and physical AI solutions. The company's newly integrated Intelligent Business Operations business line, following the WNS acquisition, is generating significant commercial traction. Capgemini maintained its operating margin target of 13.6% to 13.8% and organic free cash flow guidance of €1.8 billion to €1.9 billion for the full year.
