Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
  • Three to ten years of experience in database administration, with a focus on cloud environments, is required.
  • An active Secret Clearance is required.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Structured Query Language and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB, is required.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization is required.
  • Familiarity with database security best practices and compliance standards is required.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash is required.
  • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols is required.
  • Security+ or an equivalent certification is required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage, maintain, and optimize cloud-based database systems.
  • Design, implement, and manage cloud-based database systems such as Amazon Web Services Relational Database Service, Azure SQL Database, and Google Cloud SQL.
  • Monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficiency.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
  • Perform regular backups and restore operations and plan for disaster recovery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment and database integration.
  • Automate routine database tasks using scripting and automation tools.
  • Maintain documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in cloud databases.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Database – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer are desirable.
  • Experience with database migration and replication tools is desirable.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is desirable.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and big data technologies such as Redshift, BigQuery, and Snowflake is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are desirable.
