About the Job

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • At least five years of experience in product management or a hands-on technical role such as engineering, DevOps, or site reliability engineering, with meaningful direct Kubernetes/container experience is required.
  • Ability to work in a terminal to stand up a cluster, read logs, and troubleshoot issues without relying entirely on engineering is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes control plane components, kubelet, role-based access control, namespaces, cluster autoscaling, and upgrade/lifecycle workflows is required.
  • Practical experience with the Container Storage Interface, including dynamic volume provisioning, snapshots, and StorageClass/storage policy configuration, is required.
  • Working knowledge of pod networking and overlay networks, and ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues, is required.
  • Hands-on exposure to multi-cluster/multi-tenant environments, namespace isolation, and multi-tenancy configurations is required.
  • Ability to read and write basic Terraform or Ansible for provisioning and testing is required.
  • Direct experience installing and operating Prometheus, Grafana, Calico, or similar cloud-native ecosystem add-ons is required.
  • Comfort using Python, Bash, or Go for testing, automation, or quick tooling is required.
  • Strong written communication for specifications, bug reports, and technical documentation is required.

Responsibilities

  • Write detailed product requirements and technical specifications for Kubernetes/container features, including cluster lifecycle, Container Storage Interface/storage integration, Container Network Interface/networking, autoscaling, and upgrades.
  • Deploy clusters, test new features, reproduce customer/support issues, and validate fixes before release.
  • Work with engineers in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and design reviews, actively problem-solving alongside them.
  • Triage and prioritize incoming bugs, customer escalations, and feature requests based on technical severity and impact.
  • Partner with quality assurance and engineering to define test plans and acceptance criteria for new Kubernetes capabilities.
  • Support field/sales engineering by providing technical answers, demonstrations, and troubleshooting for Kubernetes-related customer questions.
  • Install, test, and compare competing Kubernetes distributions and ecosystem tools to inform feature decisions with technical evidence.
  • Contribute to release notes, technical documentation, and internal enablement content.

Desired Qualifications

  • Exposure to Kubernetes running on VMware, KVM-based hypervisors, or bare metal is nice to have.
  • Detail-oriented approach and comfort working through technical specifics rather than staying only at the strategy level.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers and earn credibility through technical competence.
