Requirements
  • Three to five years of successful automotive management experience, preferably in used vehicle operations.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle appraisal, wholesale purchasing, market-based pricing, and inventory management.
  • Experience with wholesale platforms such as OpenLane and EBlock.
  • Proven ability to manage inventory turn while maximizing gross profit.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience developing and motivating high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council regulations and Ontario automotive retail legislation.
  • Experience using inventory management, customer relationship management, and market pricing tools.
  • A valid Ontario driver's licence with a clean driving record.
Responsibilities
  • Appraise all trade-in vehicles and make strategic buy-or-sell decisions about whether vehicles should be retailed, wholesaled, or sent to auction.
  • Source quality inventory through wholesale channels, including OpenLane, EBlock, dealer-to-dealer transactions, auctions, and private purchases.
  • Manage inventory levels and maintain a maximum inventory supply of 45 days.
  • Monitor 30-, 60-, and 90-day aging reports.
  • Develop and execute a service-drive acquisition strategy to purchase vehicles directly from customers and maintain a consistent supply of desirable inventory.
  • Set and continuously adjust retail pricing using live market data and pricing tools to remain competitive and maximize profitability.
  • Coordinate with the Service and Detail Departments to ensure vehicles are front-line ready within a target turnaround of one to three days while controlling reconditioning costs.
  • Own monthly sales volume, front-end gross, back-end gross, gross profit per unit, and total departmental profitability against budget.
  • Recruit, coach, motivate, and manage the Used Vehicle Sales Team, including setting individual performance goals and conducting regular sales meetings.
  • Ensure every used vehicle is accurately merchandised online with professional photos, compelling descriptions, and competitive pricing across the dealership website, AutoTrader, and other third-party marketplaces.
  • Maintain full compliance with Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council regulations and Ontario disclosure requirements, including vehicle history disclosures and salesperson registration.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to Executive Management on inventory aging, inventory turn, sales performance, profitability, and departmental key performance indicators.
