Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; two years of experience in traffic signal installation; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Commercial Driver’s License, including appropriate endorsements
Responsibilities
  • Assists with coordinating daily work activities of assigned co-worker
  • Confers with supervisor to obtain direction regarding work assignments and priorities
  • Organizes tasks in order to complete assigned work
  • Monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work
  • Confers with coworkers; assists with complex/problem situations; provides technical expertise
  • Assists with training and instructing co-workers regarding operational procedures and proper use of equipment
  • Assist with supervision of co-workers by reporting employees problems and providing input on disciplinary action and employee performance evaluations
  • Installs and maintains traffic control devices
  • Sets up safety zone for worksite
  • Completes site preparation for installation
  • Performs activities such as digging, pulling wires, running pipes, wiring lights, pouring concrete, running span wires
  • Utilizes bucket truck
  • Obtains needed supplies for daily assignments and installations
  • Drives to warehouse; gathers supplies and equipment required to complete work assignments
  • Loads and unloads equipment and supplies
  • Completes required documentation
  • Drives and maintains work site trucks
  • Performs pre-trip vehicle inspection
  • Checks fluid levels and tire pressure
  • Fuels vehicle
  • Reports problems with vehicle to supervisor
