Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree is required with at least five years work experience in healthcare or a healthcare-related field.
  • Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • A background in physiology, psychology, epidemiology, or a similar area predominately involved in veterans' health is required.
  • Previous work with the Department of Veterans Affairs or veterans’ healthcare is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates with tribal affiliation are strongly preferred.
  • Have a strong understanding of general healthcare policies and procedures.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email.
  • Duties should be performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones and delivery schedules.
  • Experience and confidence in working closely with clients, program leadership, sub-group chairs, meeting participants, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and facilitate in-person and virtual formal tribal consultation services, including planning and facilitation of meetings between the Department of Veterans Affairs and federally-recognized tribes.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate meetings throughout the contract period, including both in-person and webinar or online platform meetings, with consultation services to the tribes.
  • Provide meeting notes and transcriptions, submit agendas prior to meetings, and provide a summary following meetings.
  • Support creation and revision of Standard Operating Procedures and manage all aspects of meeting scheduling (location, venue, and time) in accordance with guidelines.
  • Develop and support approval of individualized Plans of Action and Milestones that incorporate program leadership, sub-group chairs, and meeting attendees.
  • Clarify meeting content and objectives with the VA and tribes, establish ground rules, review information from previous meetings, and develop agenda and desired outcomes; follow up on action items.
  • Develop group meeting agendas that are adequately estimated for time frames and incorporate dialog, decision-making, or other tools as needed to enhance productivity.
  • Assist clients in selecting methods and tools to achieve desired results and clearly define goals and objectives for success in meetings and project initiatives.
  • Coordinate meeting schedules, distribute meeting minutes, and maintain task and issues logs for follow-up deliverables.
  • Prepare post-event after-action reports describing meetings or project initiatives and conduct debriefs with post-meeting feedback for future improvements.
  • Maintain a knowledge repository by capturing meeting discussions and decisions in Microsoft Word or Excel and organizing them per established guidelines as the official record.

  • Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience with VA or veterans’ healthcare strongly preferred.
  • Candidates with tribal affiliation strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with clinical practice guidelines.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office tools beyond basic proficiency.
