Requirements
  • At least 10 years of experience in civil site engineering, including residential, commercial, industrial, or office site design and permitting experience.
  • Professional Engineer registration is a plus.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to maintain and operate a personal and/or company vehicle.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Land Development Desktop.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam for markups.
  • In-depth knowledge of the planning and zoning process.
  • Advanced design capabilities.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient grading and drainage design skills.
  • Utility design experience, including pump stations and force mains.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
  • Ability to work and lead in a team-oriented environment focused on staff development and mentoring.
Responsibilities
  • Perform independent technical reviews of land development plan design, stormwater management design, water and sanitary sewer design, and erosion and sedimentation control design.
  • Identify potential design or constructability issues and provide value-engineering solutions that meet project requirements while reducing costs.
  • Ensure the quality of project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Verify that design and code requirements have been defined by the project engineer and indicated on design documents.
  • Lead regular training and development sessions to foster technical excellence.
  • Provide vision and guidance to the firm in the design and production of technical deliverables.
  • Perform periodic staff evaluations to identify training needs within the assigned region and report to the Head of QA.
  • Assist with preparing training materials and lead training as needed.
  • Assist with improving design tools, processes, and procedures.
  • Balance personal workload in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Travel to other offices when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer registration is a plus.
