Requirements
  • A high school diploma with five years of related experience, an Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with three years of related experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a technical STEM or Engineering field with zero to one year of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of statistical techniques and sampling plans.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Systems Regulations and ISO Standards.
Responsibilities
  • Provide quality engineering support during new business development, new program launches, existing customer programs, and through program end of life.
  • Support new business development on quality matters and draft preliminary Quality Plans when appropriate.
  • Provide cost and time estimates for anticipated quality department services such as metrology or validation services.
  • Serve as a resource for applicable ISO Program and Quality Systems Regulations Program requirements.
  • Support program launch and product realization as the quality representative assigned to the program team and Program Manager.
  • Review new program drawings, information, and customer specifications to understand program requirements.
  • Determine quality and reliability standards and ensure dimensional, cosmetic, and customer-specification requirements are defined and understood.
  • Draft program Quality Plans, metrology labor plans, Dimensional Visual Quality Requirements, and new product inspection techniques.
  • Confirm customer agreement on GD&T callouts and interpretations and all critical program dimensions when required.
  • Prepare Failure Mode and Effects Analyses and Traveler Documents as needed.
  • Develop required control and test methods.
  • Ensure First Article Inspections and Capability Studies are scheduled and completed, and complete their analyses for customer submission.
  • Author operational qualification and performance qualification protocols and completion reports, train protocol participants, oversee assigned studies, resolve deviations, and document conclusions.
  • Establish golden sample standards and submit them to customers for approval when required.
  • Attend program team meetings and customer Quarterly Business Reviews to address quality matters and present quality-related topics.
  • Complete Certificates of Conformance for outgoing products when required.
  • Collect and analyze production-line data to monitor yield and defect performance.
  • Ensure golden samples are retained and controlled and maintain Device History Records as necessary.
  • Perform periodic risk assessments.
  • Assist Purchasing with maintaining vendor quality requirements.
  • Monitor production for quality-related customer issues and support corrective-action plans.
  • Issue or authorize Change Control Requests as needed and manage returned goods, assignments, and closure of response and corrective actions.
  • Conduct root-cause investigations and develop corrective-action plans for problem reports and quality issues.
  • Manage product and process change control and notifications, ensuring required Engineering Change Orders are generated and approved by the customer before implementation.
  • Participate in customer, certified-body, and regulatory audits as a subject-matter expert for assigned products and processes.
  • Perform assigned activities in a timely manner.
  • Travel domestically occasionally.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a 21 CFR Part 820 or ISO 13485 quality-system environment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing techniques is preferred.
