Requirements
  • At least 15 years of experience in litigation support or related work, including 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • A Certified Public Accountant license and one or more of the following credentials: Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified in Financial Forensics, Certified Valuation Analyst, Certified Business Appraiser, Accredited Senior Appraiser, Accredited in Business Valuation, or Certified Divorce Financial Analyst.
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Expert-level proficiency in forensic accounting, business valuation, and economic damages methodologies, with a deep understanding of legal standards governing financial evidence and expert testimony.
  • Extensive experience serving as a lead expert witness, with a strong track record of delivering credible, persuasive, and defensible testimony in courtrooms, depositions, and arbitration settings.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing complex litigation and forensic investigations, including overseeing case strategy, managing discovery processes, and directing large-scale data analysis.
  • Sophisticated analytical thinking, with the ability to identify irregularities, model financial impacts, and synthesize findings into clear, litigation-ready narratives.
  • Verbal and written communication skills sufficient to produce high-quality expert reports, translate complex data into plain language, and brief legal teams and clients on findings.
  • Established reputation as a thought leader, with a history of publishing, speaking, or contributing to professional associations in forensic accounting or litigation support.

Responsibilities
  • Provide executive leadership across all phases of litigation support and forensic engagements, from case scoping and discovery to expert report preparation and testimony.
  • Shape the strategic direction of the practice area by identifying market opportunities, refining service offerings, and positioning the firm in forensic accounting, expert testimony, and litigation support services.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for engagement execution, evidence documentation, regulatory compliance, and applicable legal and ethical standards.
  • Represent the firm in strategic client matters and complex litigation, applying sound judgment and subject-matter expertise in high-stakes environments.
  • Lead and review forensic accounting reviews, business valuations, historical tracings, economic damages calculations, and financial modeling.
  • Deliver expert opinions and testimony in courtrooms, arbitrations, and depositions.
  • Act as a principal technical advisor to legal counsel by providing objective analysis, case insights, and support in preparing discovery, motions, and cross-examinations.
  • Ensure work product is accurate, well-documented, and compliant with professional standards and legal evidentiary requirements.
  • Cultivate relationships with attorneys, law firms, and referral sources to grow originations of new business.
  • Provide ongoing financial advisory support for contract disputes, intellectual property infringement, fraud investigations, shareholder disputes, and post-acquisition matters.
  • Manage engagement scope, client expectations, and project timelines while maintaining responsiveness and confidentiality.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a growing team of forensic accountants and litigation consultants, including setting performance goals, conducting reviews, and providing technical coaching.
  • Promote a collaborative, analytical, and accountable team culture focused on precision, ethics, and client service.
  • Design and deliver internal training programs in forensic accounting, litigation support, and expert witness preparation and testimony.
  • Support business development through professional group presentations, relationship building with legal and financial professionals, and thought leadership content.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to align litigation support with broader firm strategy and identify cross-service opportunities with tax, assurance, accounting, and other advisory teams.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, continuing professional education programs, and professional forums to increase visibility in forensic and dispute advisory services.
  • Perform other duties and take on a variety of responsibilities assigned by firm leadership.
  • Meet annual billable-hour and other targets to fulfill individual and team performance and overall firm productivity.

Sorren adds two Nevada firms. Updated August 7, 2026, 1:56 pm Meridian, Idaho-based Sorren (FY25 net revenue of $193.3 million) added two Reno, Nev.-based firms, Persing Professional Group (PPG) and Carefree Professional Practice Resources (CPPR), expanding the firm's presence in northern Nevada. PPG provides tax, accounting, consulting, succession planning, cash flow management and CFO advisory services to privately held businesses and their owners. The firm serves clients in health care, construction and service-related industries. CPPR is a specialized tax and accounting firm serving dental practices and professionals, providing guidance on financial, tax and operational matters specific to the dental industry. "These two firms represent exactly the kind of organizations we want to align with - deeply rooted in their communities, committed to their clients and focused on creating opportunities for their people," said Sorren CEO Craig Grooms. The additions expand Sorren's presence in northern Nevada and add capabilities in health care, professional services and business advisory.

Sorren expands California presence with Connected Accounting deal

Sorren, a US tax and accounting firm, has acquired Los Angeles-based Connected Accounting, expanding its California presence. Founded in 2019 by Marie Greene, Connected Accounting uses technology to manage accounting workflows and improve efficiency. The deal strengthens Sorren's ability to offer scalable digital services whilst maintaining personalised client relationships. Greene said joining Sorren would accelerate growth and expand capabilities whilst preserving their client-first approach.
