ICRA certification and familiarity with local government entities.
Proficiency in project reporting software, Microsoft Office, blueprint reading, and Procore.
Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, airflow standards, and quality standards.
A valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites; travel may be up to 75%.
Proven knowledge of commercial building and construction and related sectors, with experience managing all aspects of large commercial projects from inception through profitable completion, including ground-up projects, interior renovations, finish work, and relocation and replacement work on projects valued at $2 million or more.
At least five to ten years of on-the-job experience.
A high school diploma is the minimum educational requirement.
Ability to supervise and lead a team, organize and schedule the work of a multi-member team, and communicate with team members, Project Management, and customers.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors at construction sites, work extended hours to meet deadlines and night shifts, and perform physical work including climbing stairs and ladders and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
Current Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification.
Personal protective equipment and safety gear are required at job sites.
Responsibilities
Enforce compliance with OSHA, the company safety plan and policies, project procedures, safety-program requirements, and work rules; advocate for safety as the top priority.
Supervise field construction to ensure completion in accordance with the design, budget, schedule, and customer objectives.
Conduct weekly on-site meetings with subcontractors, vendors, and others regarding schedules, safety issues, and field performance.
Supervise workers' health and safety by enforcing company, state, and federal guidelines.
Prepare and distribute timely field reports, including daily superintendent and safety reports.
Complete punch-list items within the customer's required timeframe and project budget, using Procore for punch-list management.
Monitor and direct subcontractor progress and ensure adequate manpower to meet the project schedule and customer expectations.
Prepare subcontractor work schedules as needed and provide input to the Project Manager on project construction schedules and updates to support timely completion.
Verify layouts, check subcontractor layouts, and establish initial control lines and grades.
Respond to subcontractor questions about project documents and their work, and provide documentation and coordinate with the Construction Manager as appropriate.
Participate in pre-construction planning, including logistics, means and methods, bid and scope reviews, and project estimates.
Maintain an up-to-date set of contract documents on site.
Ensure subcontractors maintain record drawings during construction.
Organize, establish, and maintain the on-site field office in a clean, organized, professional condition with appropriate signage.
Communicate promptly with the Construction Manager about financial matters, safety, construction progress, labor issues, materials, quality, and code issues.
Coordinate and work with Project Managers and other personnel, and collaborate with other Superintendents on larger projects.
Manage, oversee, train, and mentor other Superintendent levels.
Continue education in OSHA and safety, means and methods, codes, management skills, and new technology.
Maintain current Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification.
Maintain current knowledge of permitting processes in the communities where work is performed and communicate process changes to the office.
Maintain overall jobsite cleanliness to company standards.
