Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician certification (CSPDT) issued through The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) required upon hire or must obtain certification within 6 months of hire
  • 1 year of relevant experience required
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee daily activities between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Departments to facilitate efficient case flow through efficient case cart assembly and decontamination, assembly and sterilization/high level disinfection of all reprocessed surgical inventory
  • Assist in projects and process improvement
  • Promote customer service and patient satisfaction through effective communication with Operating Room clinical operations and multiple sterile processing departments across the Medical Center
  • Order, procure and organize instrument trays on a global level to service the entire Enterprise
  • Serve as a clinical liaison between the Operating Rooms and the CSS offsite location to track and allocate sterilized instrumentation across the Enterprise
  • Ensure sterilized, appropriately functioning medical supplies and instrumentation are packaged and delivered to the point of use aseptically
  • Utilize 24/7 operations across multiple reprocessing sites including Ross Heart Hospital, University Hospital, James Cancer Hospital, Same Day Surgery, University Hospital East and all Ambulatory sites
