Requirements
  • A professional, National Architectural Accrediting Board-accredited degree in Architecture or equivalent is required.
  • At least 8 years of experience in commercial architecture is required.
  • Data center experience or experience managing large teams on large-scale projects is required.
  • Professional registration is required.
  • A high commitment to quality assurance and quality control is required.
  • A thorough understanding of how a drawing set is assembled is required.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and constructibility, with the ability to apply that knowledge to support project design and budget, is required.
  • Experience managing a variety of consultants and contractors is required.
  • Proficiency or experience managing overall project fees and schedules is required.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and leading project teams and collaborating in a diverse project-team environment is required.
  • Strong marketing and client-relations experience and capabilities are required.
  • Strengths in master planning, conceptual design, and technical excellence are required.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
  • Confident presentation ability is required.
  • Efficient coordination of project deliverables and client expectations is required.
  • Experience preparing all stages of design documentation, performing construction administration, and coordinating consultants is required.

Responsibilities
  • Develop competitive fee structures reflecting the defined scope of services for project pursuits.
  • Establish and manage project schedules.
  • Oversee project completion on time and within the fee budget.
  • Anticipate, understand, and manage client expectations.
  • Provide leadership to staff by identifying project studio team members’ roles and responsibilities, leveraging their strengths, providing stretch opportunities, and offering mentorship.
  • Lead and encourage open dialogue with the project team regarding design and technical ideation and facilitate appropriate solutions.
  • Motivate the project team to meet project goals through encouragement and course correction.
  • Oversee construction-phase administration procedures and documentation, including shop drawings, submittals, requests for information, and addenda or clarifications.
  • Oversee the development and presentation of appropriate technical solutions to project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate internal staff, external consultants, and other stakeholders to achieve a cohesive and collaborative project team.
  • Attend and conduct presentations.
  • Explore and recognize new business opportunities through professional networks.
  • Drive project teams to seek innovation in design solutions and improve project performance.
  • Develop project directives, outlines, projections, schedules, and strategies over the course of the project.
  • Oversee the development and communication of appropriate project phasing.
  • Manage all facets of project production resulting in a thorough set of documents.
  • Identify solutions and resolve technical challenges.
  • Understand and apply appropriate industry standards and construction practices.
  • Identify, understand, and document regulatory agencies’ requirements and recognize and resolve code-related design issues.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes and quality control of project documents.
  • Demonstrate, share, and apply new methodologies, practices, codes, and products.
  • Maintain awareness of and apply new methodologies, practices, codes, and products.
  • Manage client relations.
  • Provide leadership to staff.
Desired Qualifications
  • Revit proficiency is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with other 3D software is a plus.
  • Interest in sustainable design.
