Requirements
  • A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • A minimum of two to three years of TRIO and/or migrant experience in student service and/or academic support programs, or similar programs for disadvantaged students, is required.
  • Professional experience in an education-related field is required.
  • Knowledge of federal grant programs and their operations is required.
  • Managerial skills in budget planning are required.
  • Ability to speak English and Spanish, along with strong written and oral communication skills, is required.
  • Professional or personal experience overcoming barriers similar to those facing project participants is required.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail, are required.
Responsibilities
  • Administer the grant process throughout all stages, including recruiting, selecting, tracking, and documenting activities; meeting grant goals and objectives; maintaining fiscal accountability; and compiling information for required reports.
  • Manage day-to-day programmatic activities for the grant's target population and ensure services comply with Department of Education regulations.
  • Collect and analyze data measuring program performance and student progress.
  • Monitor expenditures and billing or invoices within the grant budget, reconcile college budget statements with internal program budget spreadsheets, and prepare, analyze, and submit reports.
  • Review and approve curriculum implementation for student sessions and activities supporting learning during enrichment trips, service-learning projects, and cultural excursions.
  • Facilitate workshops and sessions, student leadership retreats, enrichment trips, service-learning projects, and cultural excursions.
  • Assist with identifying and resolving problems and conflicts involving students enrolled in the program.
  • Develop and maintain an evaluation plan.
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate project staff; organize and conduct staff meetings; and provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
  • Travel for professional development opportunities and for student enrichment trips, leadership retreats, and cultural excursions.
  • Represent TSTC and the grant program in local, state, and national organizations and agencies as assigned.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, conferences, seminars, and professional meetings.
  • Coordinate with principals, counselors, teachers, and agencies seeking program information.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with school districts and agencies to meet program objectives.
  • Work with school districts and TSTC staff to provide services supporting student success and retention.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
