Requirements
  • A Juris Doctor degree and active bar membership are required.
  • Proven experience providing legal counsel and advisory services is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience performing legal advisory roles is required.
  • At least two years of experience supporting talent development within the last five years is required.
  • Experience working in a legal setting with knowledge of attorney-client privilege is required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to Office of the General Counsel personnel on matters related to their roles and responsibilities within the Navy and Marine Corps.
  • Ensure that legal practices and activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Assessment Facilitator and Data Analyst to facilitate individualized 360-degree assessments for Office of the General Counsel personnel.
  • Review and assess the legal implications of assessment results and provide guidance on talent development strategies.
  • Participate in discussions and recommendations to the Principal Deputy General Counsel regarding the administration of 360-degree assessments and interpretation of results.
  • Contribute to enhancing attorney-client relationships and improving legal communication within the Office of the General Counsel.
  • Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, advise on their impact, and ensure that the Office of the General Counsel's legal practices remain current and compliant.
  • Provide legal support and guidance to the Principal Deputy General Counsel and the Office of the General Counsel of the Navy as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of personnel or talent development concepts is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with talent development, including 360-degree assessment techniques, is desirable.
