Requirements
  • Thorough understanding of the customer sales cycle.
  • Four to five years of prior experience in an Account Executive or business development-focused role is ideally required.
  • Experience selling software or software as a service products, services, competencies, solutions, and offerings.
  • Knowledge of or previous experience in the software industry; experience within the transport planning sector is mandatory.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience working with and understanding contracts is a plus.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to credibly present recommendations at senior organizational levels.
  • Sales, negotiation, and objection-handling skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and maintain collaboration across geographically diverse teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with a high degree of honesty and integrity.
  • Professional image and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
  • Prospect target accounts and sell Aptean solutions within an assigned territory to achieve quota.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
  • Build a pipeline contributing 50% toward quota achievement.
  • Execute the sales process with creativity and vision to drive consistent results.
  • Work with Solution Consultants and the wider Aptean team to develop customer-specific value propositions and coordinate product demonstrations.
  • Manage revenue and bookings quotas and participate in frequent forecast reviews.
  • Facilitate internal communication, including cross-functional transitions, escalations, and contracts, by engaging appropriate team members.
  • Participate in marketing events.
  • Maintain relevant industry, business, and product knowledge for assigned accounts.
  • Coordinate and facilitate technical presentations and participate in customer and marketing events.
  • Use customer needs and industry trends to provide input into product strategy.
  • Develop an understanding of Aptean’s logistics, distribution, and home delivery solutions and communicate their value propositions to prospects, customers, and partners.
  • Use a consultative approach to understand prospects’ business problems, objectives, and priorities.
  • Travel frequently.
