Requirements
  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in industrial and/or storage and loading facilities.
  • A 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate is required.
  • Demonstrated previous experience in industrial, storage, and loading operations.
  • Previous experience working with other departments to support production targets.
  • Knowledge of actions required of the On Site First Intervention Team during emergency responses.
  • Full proficiency in managing safe work with a Permit to Work system.
  • Willingness to comply with the drug-free and harassment-free work environment and all safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with front-line workers through management.
  • Ability to work under pressure while handling tasks, targets, and changing priorities within tight time frames.
  • Expertise with computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
  • A valid driver's license with abstract and a passport.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Ability to pass a pre-placement medical fitness assessment and pre-site access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
Responsibilities
  • Own responsibility for safe production and execution of activities and tasks in the assigned area during the duty period.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the current operational status of the plant and equipment in the process section using daily instructions, logbooks, and shift-change communications.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of current safety procedures, operating procedures, work instructions, and Standing Orders to ensure adherence by all personnel in the process area.
  • Support Operations Management in executing the Operations Readiness Assurance Plan to ensure readiness for start-up, transition into the operational phase, and the facility life cycle.
  • Ensure the availability and reliability of plant and equipment during the shift.
  • Support implementation of the agreed Maintenance Strategy.
  • Support the Permit to Work system, including functionality and improvements, isolation standards, competencies, issuing, precautions, compliance, auditing, manuals, and authorization.
  • Ensure the operational area is free of hazards and that risks are mitigated to As Low As Reasonably Practicable expectations.
  • Ensure equipment and plant handed over for maintenance are correctly isolated and in a safe state for personnel to undertake tasks.
  • Support development and implementation of checklists and routines for plant and equipment.
  • Deliver timely and accurate input data for the plant daily report to the Utilities Lead.
  • Interface with the Technical Services department on integrity issues and compliance checks.
  • Interface with the HSSE department on compliance and improvements.
  • Interface with other departments regarding support requirements and documentation.
  • Maintain full compliance with company health, safety, and environmental policies and guidelines.
  • Champion health, safety, security, and environmental practices as a member of the LNG Operations Team.
  • Lead health and safety shift meetings, safety walks, and audits when required.
  • Intervene promptly to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of personnel and plant.
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to influencing overall safety behavior in the plant.
  • Implement and complete safeguarding-system checklists at agreed frequencies and standards.
  • Ensure Shift Operations emergency-response capabilities are fully met during the shift period.
Desired Qualifications
  • Basic firefighting and emergency response experience.
