Requirements
  • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree.
  • Completion of a Council on Podiatric Medical Education-approved residency.
  • Board qualification or certification in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
  • New York State license and current Drug Enforcement Administration certificate.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and organize daily tasks independently and with a team while balancing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Accuracy and productivity in completing tasks.
  • Professionalism, diplomacy, judgment, and discretion.
  • Ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
Responsibilities
  • Adhere to the Time and Effort Schedule.
  • Serve on a minimum of two College or Clinic committees.
  • Establish a regular schedule for student academic consultation and performance evaluation.
  • Prepare and submit a current curriculum vitae each year.
  • Reserve time, as needed, for individual student conferences and tutoring.
  • Advise students regarding independent research or provide advice in the faculty member's area of expertise.
  • Attend and participate in Grand Rounds and Clinical Pathological Conferences, where applicable.
  • Distinguish oneself within the profession through scholarly activities such as publication in recognized scientific conferences, publication in recognized scientific texts or journals, funded research, research approved by the College Peer Review Committee, or other scholarly works on a yearly basis.
  • Attend all required faculty and division meetings.
  • Advise the immediate supervisor of emergency and known absence dates from scheduled duties.
  • Participate in personal evaluation and remediation processes as required.
  • Adhere to the Faculty Dress Code stated in the Faculty Handbook.
  • Attend the Graduation Ceremony, White Coat Ceremony, and Annual Retreat.
  • Provide academic or clinical coverage outside normal scheduled hours for non-emergency assignments when given reasonable advance notice.
  • Provide academic or clinical coverage for all emergency assignments.
  • Become proficient in using educational and clinical technology products acquired by the College or Clinic for its programs.
  • Participate in College recruitment presentations, admission interviews, and Open House events when feasible.
  • Carry out the general responsibilities of full-time faculty in support of the mission, goals, and objectives of the New York College of Podiatric Medicine.
  • Provide patient care at affiliated hospitals or clinics when assigned.
