As a Software Architect, you will be responsible for the technical vision, design and enhancement and maintenance of Payments, in-app purchases and mobile direct store services at scale for mobile, web and other platforms used by all Zynga games.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Architect, design, enhance and maintain Payments SDKs and backend services for all supported platforms
• Maintain an understanding of end-to-end system interactions and architecture
• Optimize and refactor existing services to improve reliability, scalability and to lower costs
• Follow engineering standard methodologies ensuring performance, reliability, and measurability at scale
• Review detailed designs from others, align with Zynga-wide technical vision, and exercise technical leadership on the team and engineering organization
• Advocate for and implement new technologies and engineering standards across the team
• Evaluate, architect and implement new Payment systems and technologies
• Work collaboratively across teams to ensure business requirements are successfully translated into technical solutions which follow engineering standards
• Document and build implementation plans for architecture and system designs
• Hands-on approach where needed including contributing to feature development, supporting Payments services in production, and contributing to on-call and support
• Provide technical mentorship to other engineers, growing their skills and providing career guidance and driving a culture of technical excellence in software development and infrastructure design

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science
• 8+ years of professional experience in software development of cloud based software
• Strong experience programming RESTful services using Java
• Strong familiarity and experience using AWS and/or other cloud computing platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
• Experience building performant, scalable systems that adapt and grow to meet customer needs
• Experience with C# and C++
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes/EKS
• Experience with database systems (SQL, NoSQL)
• Experience with object oriented and independent design of applications or systems
• Deep understanding of algorithms, design patterns, debugging and performance optimization
• Working knowledge in at least one of the following:  Unity, Unreal, iPhone SDK, Xcode, Android SDK, HTML5
• Working knowledge of mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• Familiarity with Regulatory (e.g. SOX, GDPR) requirements
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with senior leadership with confidence and clarity
• Familiarity with web development using JS, Angular and React is a plus
