Requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Three years of previous medical-related clerical experience or an associate degree.
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication/customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in utilizing computer applications.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduling functions in a high-volume, fully computerized environment.
  • Act as a professional liaison for staff, other hospital personnel, medical staff, and physicians’ offices.
  • Apply general knowledge of anesthesia procedures and related functions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a hospital or medical office scheduling environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in using a computerized scheduling system.
  • An associate degree.
  • Prior experience in insurance precertification and interfacing with physician offices, other organization departments, and third-party payers.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of responsibility.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to type 40 words per minute.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Strong customer service experience working with patients and clinicians.
  • Ability to work an eight-hour schedule between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
