Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Basic knowledge of personal computer and email applications.
  • Proven ability to accurately schedule construction activities or projects.
  • Demonstrated success in effectively managing safety on projects.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contract documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively before clients, trade partners, or associates.
  • Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, and apply basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems involving concrete variables and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability to stand, walk, handle objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop or kneel as needed.
  • Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and around moving mechanical parts, heights, wet or humid conditions, fumes, chemicals, electrical-shock risks, and vibration.
Responsibilities
  • Lead overall construction operations for complex projects and/or multiple concurrent projects.
  • Train and mentor associates and support their career development.
  • Support preconstruction and lead operational plans for project pursuits.
  • Develop and manage overall construction schedules.
  • Review trade partner scopes of work and contracts before finalization.
  • Support the project permitting process and develop General Conditions and General Requirements.
  • Manage site mobilization, construction workflow, and hoisting and rigging plans.
  • Lead project pre-planning and kick-off meetings with trade partners before mobilization.
  • Manage, prepare, and implement the project safety plan.
  • Conduct weekly site safety walk-throughs and ensure documentation and corrective actions are completed.
  • Coach the project team in assessing project risk and establish safety expectations.
  • Manage the ORM process and ensure daily completion and documentation.
  • Manage onsite safety orientations and ensure they are documented for every worker.
  • Ensure trade partner safety requirements are in place before site mobilization.
  • Lead review of Hazardous Building Material Surveys and high-risk activity planning.
  • Lead onsite Safety Stand Downs.
  • Manage equipment needs using the equipment utilization plan.
  • Lead budget reviews and plans to maximize tool and equipment rental enhancements.
  • Manage production rates, field craft coordination, self-perform tasks, and manpower requests to meet budget and unit requirements.
  • Oversee development of project staff and field craft needs; provide feedback, address disciplinary issues, and recognize team members.
  • Manage recovery-plan development and implementation when projects fall behind schedule.
  • Ensure Building Performance Solutions services are used as required.
  • Manage the site-specific quality assurance and quality control plan and corrective actions for non-conforming work.
  • Manage mock-up processes and lead preinstallation meetings.
  • Ensure site security, implementation of the site logistics plan, and installation of company branding.
  • Lead project documentation, photo documentation, and documentation of changes or field as-builts with the design team.
  • Lead or support owner-architect-contractor and weekly progress meetings.
  • Manage implementation and compliance of the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan.
  • Ensure utility locates and building control points are completed and protected before work.
  • Help ensure Field Work Directives are in place before extra work begins.
  • Maintain a clean, organized project site.
  • Build relationships with clients, design teams, trade partners, and associates; represent the company to site visitors and professional associations.
  • Develop and promote a high-performing team and mentor Superintendents across the organization.
  • Ensure schedule-management processes are accurate and updated; lead change control and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
  • Monitor schedule milestones, manage trade partners, vendors, and site staff, and document delays.
  • Ensure contracts, certificates of insurance, risk documentation, and project-specific risk mitigation plans are in place.
  • Identify and manage resolution of complex project issues with appropriate leadership.
  • Manage self-perform, General Conditions and General Requirements, and Logistics Center budgets.
  • Review monthly cost reconciliation and trade partner billing accuracy with project management.
  • Manage labor and material reports and corrective measures to keep projects within budget.
  • Reconcile Field Work Directives weekly with the project manager.

MCC-Longview opens state-of-art Automotive Institute and launches a new automotive program. June 30, 2026 Seven years in the making, MCC's leadership envisioned modernizing the automotive technology program to expand workforce training opportunities. In its initial phase, the existing automotive High Technology building was renovated and the collision repair program was expanded. Now after more than a year since its ground-breaking, the new MCC-Longview Automotive Institute combines its academic and corporate training programs entirely in one building, including its new diesel technology program. In June 2026, the college opened the Automotive Institute, a facility designed to support hands-on learning. The new program is equipped with state-of-the art equipment with ten bays specific to the needs of diesel motor and commercial vehicles, allowing for hands-on learning in this industry specific field. The first program cohort begins in the Fall 2026. "For more than 60 years, MCC has set the standard for automotive training and education in our region, preparing more than 9,500 students for careers in the industry," states Dr. Beatty, Chancellor and CEO of Metropolitan Community College. "Now with expanded capabilities, open-concept design and modernized teaching labs, MCC is in the position to further its impact even more." The new renovated institute includes: * Dedicated space for each of the three automotive programs * A second-floor observation bridge overlooking 24 automotive work bays * Expanded footprint for the Collision program The project was led by architect firm DLR Group and general contractor McCown Gordon, in partnership with LM2 Construction, the Automotive Institute has an open architectural design inspired by modern auto dealerships. Many of Missouri's state and local elected leaders joined MCC staff, faculty and its project partners at the ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 5th, including Congressman Emanual Cleaver, Missouri Speaker Rep. Jon Patterson, Rep. Keri Ingle of MO-District 35 and Lee's Summit Mayor Beto Lopez to name a few. "Today dedication is a huge milestone for the City of Lee's Summit. We take a lot of pride in Lee's Summit with workforce initiatives... we would like to be considered the model for workforce initiatives," states Mayor Lopez. "This is a huge need for our community and across the country, and to have that here in Lee's Summit, Missouri, we're very proud of that, we will be a continued partner as long as I am mayor." The MCC-Longview Automotive Institute is the fifth and final building of the Path Forward Capital Campaign led by the MCC Foundation, and it completes the second and final phase of the campaign. The mission of the Path Forward Capital Campaign is to strengthen MCC's workforce pipeline of local talent by adding scholarships, enhance programs and state-of-the-art facilities. "We will continue to tackle the region's economic and workforce challenges with new programs, new buildings and partner with employers to fill in industry and talent gaps," states Dr. Beatty.

He brings 25 years of experience in manufacturing and industrial operations and project execution. Hamilton first joined McCownGordon in 2022 as a market leader in manufacturing and would later be promoted to vice president and business unit leader in 2025, according to his LinkedIn profile. Before his career at McCownGordon, Hamilton served as an EPC Project Manager at Burns & McDonnell, where he spent over 9.5 years. He also worked for Procter & Gamble for nearly 9.5 years, where he served in multiple roles, most recently as operations manager.
