Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science with a specialization in software engineering, application development, or similar
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as data architect, preferably experience in DB2 and IMS databases
  • Extensive experience in aligning data models with business needs
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Good collaboration and communication skills
  • Familiar or knowledge with the following environment and technologies: Mainframe (Z/OS), Application development: CICS, PL/I, Cobol, Enterprise PL/I, Database: DB2 and IMS
Responsibilities
  • Design major aspects of the data architecture, including components such as databases and files
  • Provide technical leadership to the application development team
  • Perform database design and modeling reviews
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Decisions throughout database design full lifecycle
  • Document database backup/recovery processes, and standards
  • Anticipates potential performance problems and constraints associated with the data design being developed
  • Identify the supporting tools required to perform data analysis
  • Document Data development processes, procedures, and standards
  • Collaborate with senior management and other stakeholders to ensure the architecture is aligned with business requirements
