  • A bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of human subject studies.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate patient enrollment by participating in Brown Cancer Center clinics, confirming eligibility of potential participants, and tracking and conducting follow-up visits where applicable.
  • Collect episodic and longitudinal biospecimens and relevant data in accordance with specimen-use protocols.
  • Log biospecimens collected by the specialist, internal colleagues, or external partners; distribute biospecimens according to specimen-use protocols and applicable policies and procedures; and document actions as required.
  • Participate in biorepository technology training and use, and enter episodic and longitudinal clinical data into the biorepository database accurately and timely.
  • Interact with human subjects and serve as a liaison to patients, families, physicians, and partner hospital staff.
  • Collaborate with the Brown Cancer Center Biorepository Manager and other biorepository staff to schedule consented subjects for Brown Cancer Center clinics and coordinate with physicians and partner hospital staff.
  • Monitor laboratory equipment and order supplies needed for specimen processing.
  • Create written procedures related to specimen processing and laboratory maintenance.
  • Lead assigned specimen-use protocols and produce reports related to specific specimen-use protocols.
  • Obtain, process, and ship biospecimens for specific clinical trials supported by the Brown Cancer Center Cancer Trials Program.
  • Attend multidisciplinary clinics and conferences, workshops, and other learning opportunities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in specimen processing, clinical trials, or biorepositories.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
