Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
- The candidate must be working toward a Master of Science in Network Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience designing, building, and monitoring local area network, metropolitan area network, wide area network, internet, virtual private network, wireless, and data center network environments is required.
- Practical experience and applied knowledge of routing protocols are required.
- Strong understanding of modern data center network design across internal data centers and cloud service provider environments is required.
- Experience deploying and managing load balancers, remote access virtual private networks, and next-generation firewalls is required.
- Experience testing or implementing Network Access Control solutions is required.
- Layer 3 segmentation and advanced routing skills are required.
- Significant experience with Aruba wireless environments, FortiGate firewalls, Extreme Networks, and Cisco switching is required.
- The candidate must be able to break down and analyze network communications at the packet level.
- Excellent communication and organization skills are required.
- Coding or scripting skills are required, including tools such as Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
- Experience with network automation processes and tools is required.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise-wide network solutions, upgrades, and changes with a strong focus on network security, including implementing and managing firewalls, crafting firewall policies, developing trust-zone models, and building systems and applications into trust zones with NIST 800-171 compliance in mind.
- Drive network and security projects from planning through implementation to ensure successful delivery, communication, documentation, and organization.
- Enhance networks using expertise in switching, routing, and data flows.
- Conduct technical analysis and planning for deployment of evolving technology solutions using architecture standards and design guides.
- Interface with stakeholders to gather requirements for new projects.
