Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or GED program.
  • Four years of job-related experience, or 60 college hours, or a combination of the two.
  • Ability to type 35 words per minute or 70 keystrokes per minute.
  • Ability to operate office equipment.
  • Knowledge of computer applications and standard word-processing software.
  • Ability to enter data.
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, organize, plan, and process work, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the general public.
  • Ability to make decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment and kneel, sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods, and lift and carry files, boxes, and other materials up to 25 pounds unassisted.
Responsibilities
  • Receive, prepare, verify, and process documents, including routine correspondence and legal documents.
  • Copy forms and other materials, process and create new cases, schedule hearings, and ensure case information is properly entered into the court’s official record in accordance with established procedures.
  • Research and analyze requests to respond to inquiries, problems, issues, and exceptions; resolve discrepancies; and manage an assigned caseload.
  • Serve as a liaison between prosecutors, attorneys, judges, witnesses, victims, granting and law enforcement agencies, and other County departments; and may serve as court administrator on behalf of the courts.
  • Maintain confidentiality of cases and determine actions required to comply with statutes and court orders.
  • Process time-sensitive documents in accordance with applicable County, state, and federal statutes.
  • Scan, index, and perform quality assurance of documents in the case-management system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
