Requirements
  • Must have 3+ years of prior Scrum Master experience and overall 12+ years of experience in the industry with 5-7 years managing/leading multiple teams of size 8-15.
  • Must have solid experience using RTC Agile Tool to manage all aspects of SCRUM.
Responsibilities
  • Schedule and facilitate sprint planning meetings prior to the beginning of each sprint using RTC Agile Tool, including Story estimation and detailed task creation.
  • Groom stories with product owners and SCRUM teams in advance of each sprint.
  • Help the SCRUM team finalize Sprint Backlog during planning and communicate committed stories for the upcoming sprint to the Release Train Engineer or Senior Management and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure team vacations and holidays are reflected in available capacity/velocity and appropriate production and other support requirements are considered while determining the actual Sprint load.
  • Schedule and facilitate daily stand up meetings.
  • Represent the team at the Scrum of Scrums meeting to report progress; communicate plans to get back to the line if burndown deviates; report impediments for escalation; identify and share risks for program level review.
  • Facilitate retrospective meetings at the end of each sprint and ensure highest priority retrospective points are followed up on and closed out.
  • Coordinate with other project managers or technical managers for delivery of non-development components such as configurations, environments, and job streams.
  • Participate in Release retrospective (Inspect and Adapt) and cross-team retrospectives as needed.
  • Facilitate impediment resolution in a timely, cost-effective manner.
  • Shield the SCRUM team from outside influences to maintain focus on Sprint and Release Objectives.
  • Support continuous improvement by implementing action items from retrospectives and increasing velocity through efficiency improvements.
  • Work with the team to support Product Owner and Product Manager for Feature level T-shirt size estimates.
  • Identify dependencies on other teams for each release and drive meetings to discuss dependencies and obtain acceptance within timelines.
  • Ensure best practices such as regular JIRA updates, appropriately sized and defined stories, acceptance criteria for user stories, test scripts/execution, release notes preparation/communication, code refactoring and other agile engineering practices are adhered to.
  • Support budget aligned to resource planning.
  • Provide project status via various formats.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance partners to ensure defects are assigned within 24-hour SLA and drive defect resolution with development manager/tech lead.
  • Be proactive in operating independently to drive business outcomes.
  • Escalate issues and risks to management to ensure successful delivery.
  • Hold weekly project calls with stakeholders and publish meeting minutes in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
Desired Qualifications
  • Financial services domain experience preferably with Investment Products such as Brokerage or Individual Retirement Accounts or related experience.
  • Proficiency in using Project Management Office style tools and advanced Excel skills beyond basic use.
  • PowerPoint skills considered very good; Excel expert level.
