Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 2 years of construction inspection experience is required.
  • At least 1 year of the required experience must be in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
Responsibilities
  • Independently perform difficult and complex inspection tasks, including assessing adherence to steel quality-control procedures.
  • Inspect various facets of work on Florida Department of Transportation construction sites to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Document nonconformance and participate in determining appropriate resolutions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications.
  • Frequently serve as the Lead Inspector.
